I'm sick of it. They will call you about people with the same last name, but that are of no relation. I've told them over and over. It's like they're on a fishing expedition. I've called them back after they've left messages to say that I don't even know the people they are looking for to have them become hostile and aggressive on the phone. Well, they picked the wrong person for that. It used to almost be fun, a way to get rid of my own hostility, but now I'm sick of it because it won't stop. How do we stop this? Is is illegal?

Rude and sarcastic-I don't believe they care if they have the right person or not. Anyone who gives them personal info like ss# is really taking a chance. Just tell them to put their info in the mail...

northstar called 3 times today, the credit cards wrote the loan off so now dumb [***] want to collect, well they can try , hell make an appearance in court so i can get a good look at your face scumbags, you don`t think i will do what you say are you that ignorant....

I also got a call from them saying they were from Discover, who we have not had an account with for 3 years.

would you believe these idiots called again today , wanting me to pay on discover credit card, ha ha ha ha , these bull [***] collectors once worked for me do you think i ever got any thing from them HELL NO i even paid them to collect for me $500.00 gone . Debt collectors are worser then people who go out of ther way to cheat you out of your money..... scum of the earth!

Got a call today from 866 224 9825 North Star Location Services. Called in an attempt to collect a debt. Goodie for them. From where I sit I need to know the debt they are collecting for and the address of the company to send a debt validation letter to. Until I get that they get bupkus. Guess it is time to put my work number on the do not call registry. I already have my home number on it but oddly enough I still calls from toll free numbers.

I, too, am being plagued by Northstar. I'm never home when they call and they never leave a message and I can't get anyone on the line when I call back the number on my caller id.I am shocked at the judgement of others that debt collectors have. If the credit card companies didn't hike their interest rates up because you're having trouble paying your bill on time due to sickness or job loss, there would be no need of collection agencies. Why don't the credit card and medical people try to work out a reasonable solution instead of making it impossible to pay your bill? They are the ones making our interest rates go sky high, not the poor folks working and trying to make ends meet.

"you have the right to hang up and not call again, anything you say can and will be held against you personaly and the company you represent, all dates and times are recorded along with all conversations, i will personaly pursue with a vengence to make you personaly and your company pay, all because of the call that you initated"
