Same thing just happened to me..i did have a valid account with these people about a month ago when my husband was picked up for a traffic warrant and was in jail just over night..so when i got the call this morning it was a recording asking for cc info to add more money to my 4$ balance..it didn't say facility name or inmates name that was trying to call..i did not give my info..instead called my husband to make sure he was not in jail again..lol which he wasn't..i think someone got ahold of #s from global and are trying to scam them..i don't think its global tell itself because they are a legit company that did allow my husband and me to talk while he was in jail..but i do believe there is some type of fraud..

I do not know anyone who is in jail and needs my help. I have no idea why or how these people are calling my number. I hope to be able to block this number so that I don't get anymore calls from them.

Received a call attempt from an "inmate" on 9/13 which solicited this Global Tel Link calling service. Did not provide an inmate name. Received a second call today purely soliciting the Global Tel Link service because an "inmate" attempted to call me previously. Call the 866 number and was soliciting two more times for their services and then got on the phone with a rep, Jose, who could not or would not provide me an inmate name. They provided purely a county jail name, which anyone could come up with using your area code. This sounds like a fake inmate solicitation attempt. They're attempting to stir up our emotions into believing that someone we know is actually in jail and are then trying to sell us their calling service. Smells like a scam from end to end.

ive never gotten a call from global telling till today and its werid cause my friend just had gotten locked up two days ago and i dont know if this is him trying to call me or if its a frod. if it was really an inmate wouldnt is say what jail there calling from and there name? please help!!!!

IT WOULDN'T SAY WHAT JAIL IT WILL SAY AN INMATE FROM A CORRECTION FACILITY IN WHATEVER COUNTY IS ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A PHONE CALL..SCAM IS WRITTEN ALL OVER THIS THING

This company calls me several times a day and I don't know anyone in prison. There's apparently no way to stop the calls so each time they call I do a Google search for "global tel link" and click one of their pay per click ads at the top of the page. If they're going to annoy me and waste my time, I'm going to waste their money.

I keep getting calls from Global Tel link leaving the number 866-230-7761. I looked it up and it seems to be for people in jail? I know NO ONE in jail and I have no idea who is calling my cell as it comes up "unavailable," but I want it stopped immediately!

I got a call from this "Global Tel Link," I did not call back however, this must be a scam. I have received calls from someone in jail in the past and they never request money or ask you to call a different number
