Shows up on a Capital One credit card statement as from Dell Computers. Was an erroneous credit charge on my card. Not sure this number is actually from Dell.
Want to update on this number and the 1403.94 charged fraudulently out of my Account. Chase fraud division (open 24/7)now has this number and has credited my account. I had to destroy my card. Please don't hestitate to report anything similiar and hopefully they catch this thief! I got the phone number off my statement. Was charged to Dell as business transaction. Very brazen!
Another update to Feb.10 - have now received a bill from Dell for a computer I did not order from this schmuck!! Called Dell and reported a fraudulent order and they are processing. The crook had the computer sent to my name but in Grand Junction CO. 585 24 1/2 Rd. Apt.50. Check your credit cards frequently and look for any suspicous charges and act immediately! What a racket!
Who is this person? I was hit over the weekend with three charges fromDell.$322.15, $277.36, and $150.84 on 2/09. I had to cancel my card thatI rarily used. How did he/she get the card informartion?
If you see this charge, make two calls IMMEDIATELY: * Call your credit card company. * Call Dell customer service at 1-800-624-9897.Tell Dell that YOU ARE NOT A CUSTOMER and that you are reporting a fraudulent charge to your card. They will take your information and start a fraud investigation.
One of the best things anyone can do, that's perfectly legal and will save you headaches, is have a FRAUD ALERT placed with the credit agencies. You only need to file with one (TransUnion, Experion or Equifax), and you can do it online. That one company is required to contact the others. You can have it done for 45 days, 7 years or permanently. What it does, is alerts those agencies to verify your information with you before extending any kind of new credit. I was very glad I'd done this last November, when someone tried to use my information to open a large line of credit. It was refused, thankfully.
has anyone ever had success in pursueing fraud with these guys? i got hit for $379.85 three times.
I got scammed for $1598!! I just called my credit card company and reported this fraudulent charge... I tried calling the Dell number 866-393-9460, and it sounds fishy, and doesn't sound like it's really from Dell. I couldn't get through to anybody because it is after business hours, but I will try again tomorrow. BEWARE! Check your statements carefully. My problem now is that I always pay my balances in full and I missed this one because I thought it was for a computer I paid on a different card. I've already paid my cc company for this wrong charge, and now I have to wait until I get the money back... !!!
Same problem, I got a message from Chase bank saying that I was charged 271.20 from " dell sales & service" I never ordered or bought anything. This is straight robbery! I called the 866-393-9460 number and was routed to the Phillipines and India. The first thing that they wanted was my social security number! Like hell I would ever give it to them. The latest is that something was charged to my VISA, How they got it I dont know. Thieves! - LA 8/10/11
