Hi, I'm in the same situation as you. I've already resolved toll violation with Fastrak but they sent me another mail saying that I still have an unpaid toll violation. I went to their website, pampayments.com, and it doesn't even exist. Should I just ignore it?
I got a call/vm from this number at my place of business. When you call it asks for you to enter your account # and then press the # key. The vm did not have this information. I hit 0 and then #, had to do this 3 times, and then got put into a "hello, thank you for calling, the next available representative will be right with you". Eventually a woman picked up, immediately put me back on hold, and then came back. She was calling for a "Bay Area Toll Violation" that had been sent to collections on one of the greater SF Bay bridges. They are likely a state collection agency, as the automated phone that answers says "You have reached the office of Law Enforcement Systems". And for the record, what they called us about was legitimate.
NO, this is NOT a state collection agency.Do not be deceived by the official sounding name, they just ruthless debt collectors who exercise NO scruples in threatening you. They Bay Area toll authority has outsourced collection of old fines - however this PRIVATE company has been using old fines as a pretext to call and harrass you to "pay up". I cleared up my fines months ago, even the BAy Area toll authority says they have informed the company that I have paid up, BUT for some reason they keep calling me. Very annoying - if you have paid your fines do not do anything, this company HAS NO RIGHT to bother you.
This morning I received a call from an unknown caller that was very authoritative and directed me to enter my account number followed by #. Since the caller didn't identify themselves/the company they were with I had no idea what my account number would be because I had no idea who was calling. So I mistakenly called the number they provided to me: 866.424.9126. (I'm concerned now they know my number is a working number.)I searched the phone number online and came up with the company name of Law Enforcement Systems LLC. I also read that this is a private collection agency who goes after people who've already paid up toll-bridge traffic violations. Many years ago--at least 5-6 years I traveled to San Francisco and inadvertently drove through the monthly toll booth lane on the Golden Gate Bridge out of ignorance (I didn't see in advance that there were different lines for different drivers--they don't have toll booths where I live). I called the San Fransisco Transit Authority and they waived the charges for me when I plead ignorance. I believe I kept documentation of this just in case--boy am I glad I did!Best regards,Lisa
Same thing here. Judging by the dates of these posts, sounds like these scoundrels just bought a book/portfolio of seemingly unpaid tolls. I was in a rental car and have a transponder that I use when I rent cars. It didn't trigger and I resolved the issue with both the rental car agency and the toll authority, but sounds like the case/file still got sold/transferred. The agency tracked down a number I didn't realize was still attached to me and someone had mentioned they got a call from this agency, so they are pretty desperate to collect the 20 cents on the dollar or whatever they get for fulfilling these fictitious debts and either really sophisticated or really unsophisticated is my conclusion.-
This is on the borderline of being a hoax. They are using a phone # (my parent's # from 20 + years ago from NJ) to contact me for a toll collection violation going back to 2008 across one of the Bay Bridges. Any toll violation had been paid within 30 days. The bridge authority outsources tickets and violations to out of state firms. I've recieved multiple incorrect tickets in the mail of my car running a toll while I was out of the country or while I was at home. they are almost impossible to correct. do not pay these people.
Thanks for some of the info. They have called us and we live in orange county in S.CA and have not driven over a bay area bridge in years and paid cash the last time. I ll try calling the San Fran transit authority as someone mentioned just to verify.
They eat up my cell phone minutes calling me over and over and over again. They this time said they were removing my number. Well we'll see.Wish we could report them to some agency to stop them. Sounds like they're barking up the wrong tree and no one is stopping them. I've called the Stop Unwanted Calls which is suppose to be by the government and I seem to get more calls instead.
