i was sent a bill for $144.14 in the virginia Hampton roads area for unpaid tolls when i called they were unable to tell me what toll i drove through and demanded a payment .

They keep calling our phone, don't leave a message. Looks like a scam of some sort from reading the on-line reports. Glad I haven't answered and will now block so I don't have to hear the phone ring!

Hi all, interesting that you all have noted this as a collection agency. When they called us from this number, 866 424-9136, they told us that our computer was crashing and offered to help. Wanted us to open up the computer (which was turned off at the time) which is NOT crashing in any way (this post from the very computer we have at home-where they called. We refused - told them the computer wasn't home and told them to call back later. Which they have done several times, but we have not answered as we screen our calls and recognize their number. Changed their scamming method?? New plan??? we just don't answer them anymore.

I've had repeated calls from this # asking me to call and identifying themselves as "Law Enforcement." Obviously a SCAM!!! When I call the #, they ask for my "account #." These calls are most annoying! I couldn't find info on them until I searched "out of the country." BEWARE! Just hang up!

Wow- finally got through after pressing 0, and told them to remove my number, it's someone else's number... hopefully they will do it.

We have been having a message left on the answering machine to call 1-866-424-9136 as soon as possible. I couldn't find the number is a Google search nor is a reverse look up. I just delete it but this is the fourth time in two weeks that a message has been left. I'm reporting the number to the better business bureau and the Alaska State Troopers as a harassing number because no other information has been left as to who is calling, who they want to speak to, etc.

Does anyone know the number they call from? They call me at my office number which gets forwarded to my cell, so the only number I get is from my main switch showing an outside line. I have been getting calls from them for the past month, I just today received a notice from LA Metro that I had been in the "Fast Track" lane. This is true, however I do not live in the LA area and was in the lane only long enough to read the sign which stated the restrictive nature of the lane, so I exited immediately.

Also if you can, remember the words "cease and desist", If a debt collector calls or writes you craft a response with the words cease and desist in them, record if you do not have an address to write to them. Once they hear or read this they can only contact you one more time with a detailed description of the debt you owe. After that, if they contact you they are liable to you for fines (paid directly to you, and some to the state). If you want more info, google cease and desist and debt collection or something like that. You will be glad you did.

Be careful when you call these agencies and do not volunteer any information - like your previous address, phone numbers, social security, etc.. even if the don't have any legitimate claim, they'll try to sip through their database or trade the information they collected with other collection agencies, as they'll go through your life history they will find something to collect from your...
