I am going to report them to an attorney, they don't have the right to harass this way!
My message came from somebody representing the business interests of Davis Hospital, in Layton, Utah. They only said to contact their "patient services department" at this phone number regarding a "personal business matter." Weird. I'm pretty tired of getting these calls despite not owing anyone any $.
Bill Collector, apparently (and one that has their records screwed up because I have no outstanding debts to them nor have I ever been admitted to their hospital). I got a call from someone claiming to be from Palms of Pasadena Hospital. I called the local number for them that's in my phone book (instead of their long distance # left on message) and they have no idea why I was called. I got a new cell number abt 3 mos ago, mistaken identity? What a boneheaded system and unwelcomed interruption to my day.
They called, didn't leave a message.I called back, was advised the phone call would be recorded. Was asked for my phone number and name (which I provided).I was asked if I knew "Lisa Baker", which I do not. I advised as such and asked that my number be removed from her account information.
These people are lucky (sort of). When I've tried to call back, the phone just rings and rings. You hear the little click that usually means it's flipped over to a voicemail line, but no voicemail ever picks up. I'm also Utah, and they're identifying themselves as Davis North as of this month. I've gotten 4 calls insisting I call back by 5 the next day.
When I picked up the phone a computerized voice said "hello" then hang up. I called it back and it was billing services for Jordan Valley Hospital (along with other facilities, I'm sure). All I gave them was my phone number and explained the phone hang up. They mentioned the small amount we still owe them on a procedure done in June. It was legit. I did mention that they're computer dialing system could use a bit of tweaking, however.
This is a company that handles collections for hospitals. I had several lumps removed from my arms, legs, and back. Was told by the hospital that my co-pay was $800, that they made sure they collected before the surgury began. So I thought they talked to my insurance company and the co-pay was all the charges I would pay. About a month after the surgury, they said I still owed $11,000! I found out my insurance only covered $500. The hospital should have advised me BEFORE the surgury of my lack of good coverage, that I pay thru the nose for from my paychecks, and I would have not had the surgury done. I am not giving them $11,000 because of their screwup. They can try to collect it from the Government, that my hard-earned tax money goes to, but has the money to spend on use of, and reserch, on stuff to kill people in mass with.
Received a call from this number the other day. I do owe St Joseph's Hospital in Tampa money for my co-pay. We have crappy insurance that we pay for ourselves at $1123 a month for 2 adults. Neither of our jobs offers group health coverage. I called them and told them I could pay $40 a month and I would do so. They told me that they do not make payment plans (something you are often told hospitals will do) and they will ruin my credit that is now currently quite good. I will continue to make my $40 payments to the hospital and will ignore the collection agency. One thing to remember: collection agencies pay companies for their stale debt and will collect as much as they can from whomever they can. They don't care if you don't owe the money; they will hound anyone they think will pay them whether you are the correct person or not.
This "patient services department" for Hospital (fill in the blank) is a 3rd party collection company that is NOT interested in getting the facts.. or forwarding on the Bill for verification of amounts due. They are NOT with the hospital and are an attempt to collect a debt. They hide behind the hospital name and are deceptive! BEWARE - they seek lots of personal information to VERIFY your account.FRAUD
The first time they called, they refused to give me any information until I gave them information. I told them I do not do business that way. However, when they mentioned the name of a hospital I had been in, I gave them the info and talked to them. I told them I had already made arrangements with the hospital in question.I keep getting calls from this company. I called the business office and verified that the arrangement is still in place and not only is it in place, but I was told they would put a hold on the account. Yet this company continues to call me. The last time they called me I told them I consider this harassment and to stop calling me. And yet, I just got another call on my machine. I now owe them a lousy $20 and yet they continue to harass me.
