This wasn't a call, it was a charge on my bank account / credit card statement.I paid my water bill over the phone with my credit card.There is a 3-5% fee for using your credit card, hence Utlycnvfee = Utility Convenience Fee.The charges show up separate on your statement; one as the water bill, the other as the Credit card fee.
I have gotten many of these on my credit card and they say the company has all the info and can't block the charges; what was your outcome? I've had several new cards and they keep charging because it's a recurring charge; that's the cc company's excuse anuyway. I want to make it stop!!
OMG! I have just been fighting with my credit card company about these charges and I think you have given me the answer! I pay Severn Trent (sp?) water company in Forney, Tx via credit card and it struck a bell when you said there's a convenience fee for using a credit card. I was ready to close my account after chewing out the customer service rep (how bad to I feel now, poor guy?) but it makes sense. The amount varies from month-to-month. Blessings to you!!
