my payment is late i know that but they kept calling

Just got a text message from this number that said "I'm on my way." So I'm assuming it's also being spoofed or Amazon is on their way to my house!

John, the call is from Amazon and they are a first party collector so a letter referencing the FDCPA will NOT work,

This number, best I can tell is either from a firm called "National Action Financial", a NY based collection agency, or possibly but not likely Verizon Cellular, who sells their accounts to them. Either way, they seem to call repeatedly and have been prosecuted in NY alone by Atty. Gen. Andrew Cuomo for over 1000 cases of harassing phone calls. Under federal law, if you send by regular mail to the collection agency, or if the company hasn't yet sent the account for collection, then to their Registered Agent of that company who the debt is with, a notice referencing Section 805(c) of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act referencing ceasing further communi-cation, they then must obey.The law specifically says if a consumer notifies a debt collector in writing that they wish for them to cease any further contact, then the debt collector shall within 10 days (1) Cease such contact except to advise the consumer that the debt collector's further efforts are, in fact, being terminated. Additionally, their are 2 lesser significant provisions under that sub-section. Usually the name of the Registered Agent can be obtained by calling the respective state's Dept. of Financial Institutions, Corporation's Division. Just a brief update on that above listed phone number. The number actually originates from Amazon.com

This number has been calling me for about 2 weeks. I usualy dont answer but wanted to find out who this was. I answerd once and didnt hear anything. They call me late at night and on the weekends. Usualy 3-4 times a day. Its starting to make me mad. Im going to see if I can get their number blocked from my phone. I have never orderd anything from Amazon so I dont know why they would call me.

RuggI should point out , however, and this "F'n" federal provision is, to be quite blunt, a real pisser because as long a company is using a toll free number to contact you for payment, you would unable, under based on specific language contained in the Interstate Commerce Clause (Citation currently unavail-able), to block any toll-free numbers.But their may still be hope. The jury is still out on this I think, but you just may be able to use the "Call Screening" feature as a means to skirt and block these calls once it first posts on a Caller ID unit so you can key in the number. Then, it just transfers the call to a sort of dumping grounds telling the caller that their call is being blocked. Similarly, if the number is made "unavailable" but not "anonymous" there's still a code that can be used to block it.And lastly, if a collector tries to contact you and it comes up as "anonymous", then you can specifically get "Anonymous Call Block". Generally, there is a that includes all these features plan that usually affordable, and include all these coverage options.

I discovered today that if you go into your amazon profile you can select the option to not be contact by ge money which was connected with my cellphone number on the profile. I also left a scathing message with amazon. This was my mistake with a late payment, but I resent any calls that do not leave messages.
