This call has come through about 30 times in the last 24 hours. Call is from a "correctional billing service" claiming an inmate is trying to contact me. When I called the number back I spoke with a customer representative that told me they oversee call billing for over 2,000 correctional institutions and cannot trace who it is that is trying to contact me.

Please disregard the section above where it states the caller is "University of Wisconsin Green Bay" This is not the caller.

they called and said it was a corrections center

they called me tonight too...they said it was from a correctional institute and someone was trying to get ahold of me and they tried getting me to give them a credit card

This is a cell phone and it runs my battery down daily. My phone is virually unusable - and this is the only telephone I have.

This was cute the first couple of times it happened but now three days later it is getting old! I will see if my phone company can block this number.

Call came in on cell at 12:25pm today. It actually said it was a collect call from the Oakland County Jail, which IS the closest jail to me. I did not recognize the recorded name and it was going to charge me $9 and some change to accept! What a scam, a jail/prison SHOULD show up on caller ID and will not be this number for a collect call for "up to 20 minutes" as the recording said. I hope I don't get repeated calls like most of you who have already posted. I will be mentioing this scam to a college instructor of mine on Monday, she is a police officer in this same county.
