I got a phone call from this number telling me it was urgent that I call back regarding a business account I just opened at Chase. I called the number and it just said to hold for a customer rep. At no time did it say a company name or even mention chase so after about 10 minutes on hold, I hung up. Feels fishy to me. If it were a legit Chase number, the answering voice would have said CHASE!
Everyone needs to stop being so paranoid. These are the same people that hide under their bed when they get a call from a restricted number... It's Chase Bank's Fraud Hotline phone number. I was missing a document when opening my business account. Call the number on the back of your card and have them transfer you if you feel safer that way...
Got a call from a 312 number, then received a voice mail saying they're from chase and need to verify something and was asked to call back at 877 382 8854. I called chase to verify the number and they said they don't have that number!
got a fishy letter in the mail ( photocopied) saying they were going to restrict my account due to missing documents? i had just opened a new account in my local branch so pretty sure they have all they need and it didnt match previous paper stock i received from chase and the logo was different i called my personal banker he informed me it was not from chase and there were no problems even the chase code on the bottom was fake ... BE CAREFULL !!!!!
I think the issue for everyone should be phone call versus letter. I did receive a letter requesting I call because of some missing information on an account I recently opened. Like another poster indicated, the letter did not have the blue Chase logo - instead it was black and white.I googled that number and ended up here. Did my own research (1) Called the number. They requested my account and I said I would not give it over the phone. No problem. Just stop by a branch they stated. I asked them for the branch next to me and they asked me for zip. Within seconds they gave me the address and hours of operation of the nearest branch. I also called the general Chase number to verify legitimacy of the number and they did as well.So - I think what folks should focus on is that it is easy to spoof a phone number when they are calling you. However, if you receive a letter and verify that it is a legit one - don't ignore it as it probably is an issue you need to resolve.
I got the same letter saying they are missing information. Been a customer of Chase for 10 years. No issues. I called and they said I have to prove I'm a US citizen (born and raised here my whole life---never left the country except for Bermuda!) The nearest branch is 300 miles away. They told me unless I drive 300 miles, they will close the account. I have lots of money in the account. Im so annoyed. Think I will transfer my account immediately. Why are they questioning me after 10 years and there must be more I can do then drive 300 miles!
