My story is the similar to all the others. "Hey, this is Megan from the Student Loan Advisory Board" is how the message began. It turns out that I was pre-qualified for student loan forgiveness. Of course, it was very important that I get back to her ASAP, before any program changes. There were plenty of red flags, like the fact that I never applied to any program for debt forgiveness, and that she never used my name.
