It's a crying shame that these idiots try to scam people with things like this! I'm an animal lover, but have become very suspicious about calls like this. If I see a lost dog, I will call animal control.
Missed a call from this number today. I don't have an answering machine/service, so no message, but the caller ID says LOSTMYDOGGY.COM. Note: The actual spelling on the caller ID is DoggY, not DoggIE. When I typed in that URL, it redirects to lostmydoggie.com, which is the pet site with the same phone number. Just a little odd that the spelling is different.
Got my first call from this outfit Lostmydoggie.com 2 days ago - left a message, on 01/02/18. Evidently, a small dog named "Pookie" was lost recently on "Gardenview Lane" - which, according to some messages on this board, was lost 2 or 3 years ago. The call back number is 3 states away. I think they're making these calls to advertisetheir reportedly ocercharged service. And what is my 'area', and how can they get all phone #s within an area? I'd hate to lose my cat but $600 would more than pay for a replacement from the Humane Society. Cats are smart, they'll con someobody else into taking care of them.
This MAY be a legitimate service. The message they left repeated a local lost cat posting that appeared on NextDoor yesterday, about a cat named Milo. The phone number given for the owner of this cat is local, definitely not of the same area code or exchange as the caller.

Wait a minute! I get that political and non-profit organizations don't have to check the "Do Not Call" list, but seriously, locating a missing pet does not fit either of those categories. I feel for the family who has a missing pet, but give me a break and feel a little for those who suffer an onslaught of unwanted (and unwarranted) nuisance call.
Automated call about a lost cat in the area. It sounded legit, but unless I see the cat I'll never know for sure.You can press 2 to opt out of the calls, so its no biggie.
