THIS WAS A LEGIT CUSTOMER SERVICE NUMBER FOR AMEX. In fact, within the past couple of months, I have used this number, from the back of me AMEX card, to verify my current balance. It is no longer a working number, and the AMEX website posted a new customer service number. I was able to use the new number - 800-528-4800 - to check my balance. After researching online, I can see why they changed their CS number. Guess I was among the fortunate ones who never got any bogus calls!
Received this call two times in a row, 1 minute apart (November 2014) leaving no messages. Caller ID on cell phone displayed it to be from "United Arab Emirates"... Which are in Dubai and work for the Prince. Any recent Combat Veterans who have received this call, I recommend taking some time and look them up. After scratching the surface a little bit, you might read some interesting current affairs related to your status!

FF, You no longer need a 1(one) in front of numbers anymore. Try it.Got a call this morning 9/3/15. This is a legitimate number for CitiBank/American Express. I called AmEx yesterday (Same number on the back of the card) they said I would get a call for a survey and I did. Check the back of the AmEx Blue card.
