This is a legitimate number for AmEx. It's on the back of your card people. I call it all the time. Check your American express blue clear card. Different color American express cards have different numbers.
Please consider this thought. Is the phone number real? Maybe so. Is the caller really who they say they are? Maybe not. Due to caller ID spoofing (faking) the caller ID can be made to say whatever the caller wishes. NEVER give out personal or financial information on a call you did not make. Check it out first. Validate it. Due Diligence. Go from there.
Thisis a legitimatee number for the Fraud Prevention department at
This is a legitimate number for the Fraud Prvention department at AmEx.I initially rejected the call because I was running a marathon when the call came through.....I was not going to stop running to answer the phone and especially not for a umber I did not recognize. Later that day Ireceived an email from AmEm notifying me of fraudulent activity on my credit card. When I checked my a count I found 5 charges for the same amount for a company I never heard of. I called AmEm back at the number on the back of my card and took care of the fraudulent activity.
It is a legitmate number for AmEx as this number is on the back of my card and is the number that called me when fraudulent activity occured on m account. But, someone could also be spoofing their number as well. A few months ago a scammer was spoofing my cell number. I was getting angry phone calls from people who claimed that I kept calling them while my phone was turned off and locked up in my locker at work. And no, no one got into my locker...
Actually, on 1/17/2016 this is a working AmEx phone number...it's on the back of my AmEx Blue card.
AmEx did not leave me a voice message, but they did send me a follow-up email a d a text message. It is a legitimate number for AmEx.
