We got a letter stating we inquired about getting Direct TV, which we never did since we do not watch TV. They have in said letter that Equifax was contacted for a credit rating. I called Direct TV and explained this and was told to contact 1-888-397-3742 which she said would be to contact them for Fraud concerns. All this number wanted was to put an alert on the account, but afforded me with no way at all to talk with a human.
Glad I trusted my instincts on this -- Got a letter from world financial network national bank.. stating i had recently applied for an Avenue credit card (which I did not). And.. "we review your credit report to verify information provided on the application.Your request for credit card was carefully considered, and we did not approve your application at this time for the following reasons: Unable to verify the Social Security Number or other identification number provided on application" they note a right to dispute the application and refer to Experian po box 2002 allen TC 75013 or 888 397 3742. same thing.. no option for a real person and if you go to the option of putting a flag on your account to notify of possible fraud -- the very first thing they ask for.. your Social Security Number -- ummm.. NO! -- No person - and a request for My SSN -- not going to do that. Included in the envelope was a 20% off Avenue coupon. I'm confussed, but I'll leave it at that.
Got a letter saying my student loan information was stolen and that I should sign up for a Triple Alert online, or I should call 888-829-6549 or 888-397-3742.Problem with letter: - no one in my household is a student - letter had correct address but no person listed lives in householdThrew everything in garbage.

Experian701 Experian ParkwayP.O. Box 2002Allen, TX. 75013First of all... American Express is not a Federal Savings Bank. It is a credit card broker..BROKER..If it is being issued from Salt Lake City, UTAH.... Salt Lake City, Utah, has no idea what your FICO score or credit score even is. Neither does the state of Utah. Unfortunately, there are people called SCAM artists, that use the information you are telling them on-line against you. They always are low balling credit scores even, if you have built homes, set up corporations of your own, or applied for credit. Most likely, the credit card broker himself/herself does not have a credit score or they wouldn't be brokering for a credit card company.... some actually think they will become rich, but owning a credit card. Unfortunately, it is not true. Any of it. You're lucky if they understand the english language.
