They called looking for a ex-coworker with the letters, J.S.Not the first time I heard this name, but oh well.

I work for a legitimate dent collections agency and they are probably using a system called Lexus Nexis/Accurint.BEWARE: these people work on commissions and have gotten very good at locating people. TAKE YOUR FACEBOOK and any other social media websites off the public settings. All they have to do is look at your Facebook or LinkedIn profile and use their system to punch in names of people they can tell are friends and family of yours on FB. They will use LinkedIn as well to get work info and call you at work! So just something to be careful of...the current popular scam goes something like this. They have documents to bring you(ask to verify addy) then tell you there's charges filed against you and you have to call the "firm" that's handling their case. Then when you call they will tell you that you are being pursued for fraud/breech of contract(or something similar) and want you to pay a settlement to keep it out court. But they dont have any paperwork for you and nobody takes you to court over an old debt. You can't get money from people who don't have any!

They called me asking my birthdate and address without telling me anything! You're right, I will give that to any strangers. Why nobody investigate this organization and shut it down but let it disturbing people so much?!

Download the app Mr. Number ( cellphones only) to block calls its a wonderful app to have . When you add companies like this you only know they have called by Mr. Number stating that it blocked a call attempt. Your phone doesn't ring at all. For landlines try suing *77 to block any unknown numbers.

They just called with a ghost caller ID number 440-683-5597. Left a message about a bogus hospital bill. I called the hospital directly and they confirmed that I do not have any outstanding bills. SCAM

I got a call from them today tell me my 5 year old son has a medical debt. They wanted his social security number to be able to give me any more information. My son has never been to the City that they are trying to request a debt from and i have never received any bills.

HI, I just received the same call with a reference number on my cell phone. I called the 888 760-1382 number back from my work phone and was on hold. As I was waiting I decided to look it up on the Internet and thanks to your posting I hung up. Also claiming that it was a Debt collector LOL I do have some outstanding Medical Bills but suck is life. Thanks for the information. Have a great Friday.
