This number keeps showing up on my caller ID. I finally answered it. The party on the line asked for me by name and said they were collecting a debt. Since I am no where close to owing a debt I asked what company they were calling from and what debt they were trying to collect. They told me they could not tell me until they verified who I was by giving them my address. I said I was not going to do that. They reiterated they needed to verify my address and they would give me the house number but I would have to verify the rest. The house number they gave me was not my house number so they said they must have the wrong party and hung up.
Seems something could be done about this phone harrassment. Only calls from known sources will be answered by my phone.
Got call from this number 888 787-1969, saying it was debt collection; message said they were "Property Management Services", making it sound like real estate - new name. They started calling daily mid-February 2013. Leaving computer messages. I responded by pushing a number - then nothing. Will not answer again.
That kind of approach is all well and good.....BUT, if you don't recognize the number don't answer it. If it is someone who knows you and really wants to talk to you they will leave a VM. Don't act like this is stimuli to a lab rat exercise. Just because the phone rings does not mean everything else has to stop. People let these things run your lives and it should be you running your life and putting these people off. Every time you answer the phone, and/or press a # to be removed only serves to validate your number as good and then it is sold to a bunch of other crooks and away they go again.
Got a call from this number but was not home, so I looked it up and found them to be some type of debt collector. But I NEVER answer my phone anymore when I don't know who's calling. I have also turned off my answering machine, so these idiots cannot leave me a message. I don't have any debt and pay by bills on time always. Wish there was a way to stop these type of calls. I am on the DO NOT CALL list, but that's a real joke.
