Got the same 3 way verification call, the person they connected me to was supposedly from amex but immediately said he couldn't find my information and just needed my credit card number to look me up, when I said no he asked for my full social.

Woman with very strong Indian accent left a message. (Quite persistent because I intentionally hung up on her 2 previous calls just seconds before). She said she was with Equifax Solutions and needed to verify some information. She mentioned my ACTUAL mortgage company and left case number.Since I am going through a refinance, I thought it was possible someone might need some information BUT I called my mortgage company to verify first. THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING THEY NEEDED AND THEY DID NOT ASK ANYONE FROM EQUIFAX ANYTHING TO CALL ME.EQUIFAX SOLUTIONS is totally bogus and they are phishing for informations. Will these [***] please get a life or, even better, rot in hell where they belong?

I just listened to the message again. She said her name was "Ruby" and the company name was Equifax Mortgage Solutions. Also, the first 2 times she called, the callerID said "Unavailable." The 3rd time she called, the caller ID said Equifax. That really clued me in to thinking this was a complete scam. And it was.

This saved us. Nearly identical situation. The person, "Ruby" had just enough information to sound legit; but since my wife is a realtor, she knew right away it was a scam. After just two questions from my wife the lady got nervous and hung up. BEWARE. When in doubt, check with your bank directly, do not let the person conference call you in. It could be their cousin for all you know. Legit companies will always let you call them back after you do your own checks. Thanks to post and JDUB.

Wow. I got a call from the same woman. Ruby. With a very heavy Indian Accent. I figured it was a scam, but very happy I checked here first before calling back. The caller ID did come back as Equifax. And I am also going through a refinance. But I am usually very leery of any call I did not originate. Thanks for all the help everyone

Same thing just happened. She asks to be on a conference call with my bank, who then needs my SSN to verify it's me. I stopped the call and called my bank to make sure they didn't release any information. better safe than sorry

My number is on a do not call list and still they call. They may find action taken against them.

I received a message to return a call to this number. They said something about an issue with one of my clients and the IRS... What a load of s**t.

I contacted Equifax and asked them if 888-899-1126 was even one of their phone numbers. They replied no and do not contact them. I got the same response from the bank.
