SCAM ALERTActually I got a letter with the number listed from a Company calledT & H TRUST LTD, The letter stated that I won the Lottery; A check mailed for $3960.85 based on winnings of $288,000.00 instructed to pay $2990.00 for taxes out of the check sent. The check was enclosed. It was tempting I thought I should do research on the google before I go to the bank. I found exact same deal as mineoffered to a different person by the same company, with different phone no. 905-598-4652 listed on the letter Also the thing these scam artists are doing is using Canadian postage in order to avoid mail fraud charges.

uhm... I don't think using canadian postage shields you from mail fraud charges when the mail is going through the us postal service. It amazes me though you can't catch someone that has a phone number.. I mean they need to call in to check the messages sometime... I got a letter from these retards.. calling themselves universal research inc.. accepting me as a secret shopper or something.. with a check for $3,990 drawn on a regions bank account in arkansas...082000109 routing number.. last four of account 0062 check number 900408 notified the banks fraud department hopefully they can contact someone in law enforcement to stop these losers.. though they prob operate out of a internet cafe in nigeria.. they also have a fax number 1-866-370-2386.

I also got a letter - same as above, canadian postage, Universal Research, Inc in Baltimore. I was questioning when my address was on a sticky label. On an address search it came up to a medical building - another flag. My check was from JP Morgan chase in Texas. It did look like a sweet opportunity - glad I checked further.

Got the same letter from Universal Research Inc. 805 Central Ave, Hot Springs Arkansas 71901. 1-905-598-5356, Fax 1-866-370-2386. I agree, there should be a way to track the money trail, to catch them. I just can't believe that some people would fall for this.

Got the same letter from Universal Research Inc. 649 Heathrow Dr. Lincolnshire, IL 60089, same Fax as above. This time the Phone number was 905-598-6580. The check was drawn upon Wachovia Bank routing #063000021. The check had "J&W Trust, 1305 Riverplace Blvd. Jacksonville, FL 32207" on it.One thing to note: the letter had the same misspelling of my last name I used when I would sign up for spam accounts, so someone, somewhere is pulling this info from when you sign up for "Free" things online.

I too have had the pleasure of this "exciting opportunity." Only mine was billed as customer service evaluator. Saying"With reference to your application as customer service representative..." Well, I called the number 905-598-5356, got a human who told me to just deposit the check in my bank and then send them a Money Gram. Well the check I got was drawn on Key Bank which has a branch near me so I took it to their bank and was told there wasn't enough money to cover the $3990 check and they took copies of the check, and the paperwork that came with it. I am also turning everything over to the attorney general of michigan.

Universal Research INC. has now added the phone number 905-781-1250. People don't get scammed!

I just recieved a letter in the mail from Universal Research Inc. I didnt recieve a phone call they had an add in my local newspaper. I called on it because it said something about a customer service rep. which I have done this type of work before so I thought what the heck I will give it a try. Well I got this letter in the mail today stating that I have been choosen to be a rep for my region. So I talked to my roommate about it and she told me to call the bank it was drawn off of and I did they found the account but the names on the check and what they had didnt match up. So I got on here and did my own research. And boy am I glad I did. Thank you all for putting a blog on the web about these people and phone number because I would have totally fallen for it! Be ware and my advice is not to call on the customer service rep out of area numbers.

I didn't get a call, just a letter and check. Number is different 905-782-5791. Same MO though secret shopper, $3990 check.
