I just got a call from this number also but didn't answer. They didn't leave VM and after seeing all of the comments about them on various websites, I may just call them back just to f*ck with them! ;-)
This is one of those fly-by-night recruiting companies that people from India start up when they come over to the US. I am a consultant and I work with LOADS of consulting agencies, and I never, EVER work with these because for some reason I don't trust them (no, it has nothing to do with the nationality). They want me to go 3 and 4 hours away to other cities, or they want me to move to someplace like Bismarck, ND. All of the jobs are legit, but when the recruiter is basically unknown, I don't ever respond to them. This one raised eyebrows because if you go to their website (www.tscti.com) there are loads of spelling errors and the site looks totally cheap. Plus, we're in the 21st century and the name of it makes no sense.
These guys are ropers in a confidence scam. That means they are the go betweens. They rope you with a job offer and connect you to a scammer who manages to turn a job offer into you paying them some money.
I am so angry. Finding out this was a scammer as soon as I didn't receive their second call of the day from their supposedly account manager. This was for an ophthalmic position at john hopkins. He was rude over the phone and his interview questions were asking if I know anything on the job decription. then he proceeded to ask if i could email him my resume and my confirmation to get 23/hr pay. I feel like an idiot for sending my resume. I hope all these scammers rott in hell. BURN
Reported as Spam, I'll probably sniff around the Linked-In Page as well because I seriously doubt these clowns hire for DoD, etc. Luckily, the call was just Hi, I'm calling about a position of..." and then the line hung up. So, I blocked it.. Previously, though, I was looking at an e-mail..that asks for way too much info, and the job was not even remotely close to what I do. 22nd Century seems to be a group of recruiters. Legit? Actually located in New Jersey? Hard to say. They insist on references from throughout my long career, demanding "good" phone numbers for these references. Seriously? I've never needed references like this in my entire career. 22nd Century is not recruiting me for any clearance. My reputation preceeds me. People change phone numbers, move to other places and pass away. I'm supposed to know where former colleagues are? Plus anyone with any sense won't give out information to some person who phones them out of the blue. Thick accents don't help the trust factor, either. 22nd Century got me an interview with a well known aerospace company which went very well. My references are impecable. I will contact the aerospace corp directly. This is absurd.
