Caller said he wanted to speak to my wife about doing work. Said he was Chris Rogers from Rogers & Sons Construction. Said his father owned the business for 30 years and they deal with liquidators to give the best price. He suggested sending an estimator, but I wanted to ask more questions. When I aksed for specifics on CSLB, references or website, he transferred me. Next person said he was Wilson, the Manager. He gave me the same "liquidator" script, said the company had done over a thousand homes this year alone, and wanted to send a rep here with references. I said if he had done that much business, he must have a website for people to find his company, and my wife would want to see what work they had been doing anyway. He paused, spoke to someone nearby and gave me genesisbuilders.com. I told him there was no such website, he talked to someone again and said it was actually genesisprobuilders.com, which was a legitimate website, but had no CSLB information. I said how could Roger & Sons have a Genesis website? He was unsure. I asked for a CSLB # and Wilson says the estimator will bring that. I asked for a call back number in case I needed to change the appointment, and he hung up on me. Called the # on CID 909-857-6232 and it was a fake unassigned number.
Repeat spam caller keeps trying though I blocked it a while ago. Latest call was today at 12:41 pm
They call my moms house and want to send people to her house for floor and window work. She's old and gets confused. I take the phone and ask the caller to identify himself and company and what they want. He stammers a bunch and asks about sending some unknown person to do a floor inspection. I said no we don't want that and why is he calling. He hangs up. You call the number back and it's disconnected. FRAUD. SCAM. What good is the Do Not Call Registry when calls like this happens daily!
Answered Politely (Hello May I help you?). Male caller asked for the homeowner. Replied (That person is not here right now, Would you like to leave a message?). Caller hung up intermediately. We must assume that the caller was a Contractor or Scammer. If the other party won't leave a message, some thing is out of place (hiding some thing suspicious or illegal/immoral action). Don't answer this phone number, let the answering machine take it or let it roll over to voicemail.
Blocked this number. Our number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry, but we still get calls like this everyday, what a waste of taxpayers money!
