I got a call this afternoon to my cell phone. It was a gentleman with a heavy indian accent saying he was from Yellow pages. He kept me on the line for a while asking all sorts of questions about my company which is not linked to my cell phone. He even asked the same question several times and sounded as if he was trying to elongate the time spent on the line. I suspect fowl play. I think everyone should check their phone bills for extra charges? We are also on the DNC list!
VM left was for 800-537-1634 x 6105. No such extension so I used caller ID and found the 936-559-2200. The extension doesn't work there either. If you listen to the recording long enough it does give you the option to "opt out" of any further calls.
Over the course of the past 3-6 months this crew of -deleted for propriety- has called, representing themselves in Indian accent to be calling from AT&T regarding DSL service 'upgrades', but clearly fishing for information or trying to finagle a phone service switch agreement. I have repeatedly told the person not to EVER call back, which triggers an IMMEDIATE call back to my number. Have threatened report to FCC, which doesn't seem to faze them either. Called AT&T operator and tech support for DSL; both say that they do not subcontract marketing calls to this crew. Thus, they have no exceptions to fall back on per the DNC rules. Unfortunately, I can't say I'm very optimistic that the FCC report will yield much... I will do so anyway, hoping.
I have already placed my number on the do not call list, but these a***es ignore it. Why should I take my time to tell them to follow the law. I'll report them again but it never does any good
I have gotten a call from this number almost daily for over a week.I finally answered last week. It was some man with an extrememly heavy accent. Said something about a bundle package from AT&T. Wanted me to disconnect my computer for 5 minutes then re-connect. I would then be upgraded to DSL Extreme 6.0. I couldn't make him understand that I wasn't gonna disconnect my computer for ANYBODY! I don't care if it's 5 minutes or 5 seconds! I finally hung up on him and called AT&T. I asked them if they have ever heard of ETECH. I was told no.He then told me that AT&T is offering a deal such as the man offered me, but it doesn't require disconnecting my computer.Ever since then, ETECH has called me EVERY SINGLE DAY wanting to know if I am pleased with my service. How many times do these people have to hear "DON'T CALL MY NUMBER AGAIN!" before they finally get it?????
asking me questions about my ATT service and trying to get me to agree to things. The man was foreign and I could not understand what he was saying, much less agree to whatever it was he was trying to get me to agree to.
