as Telecommunications Specialist for my employer, I get a lot of annoying & harrassing calls from telemarketers & debt collectors. This number is legit (one of the very few). CareSource, seeking to find if their Subscriber(s) kept their appt(s) with us, as we are a Medical Facility.

I must disagree. I am not and have never been associated with CareSource so I could not be one of their subscribers and therefore could not have had an appointment to keep. I believe this to be a marketing solicitation for insurance (their business) related to the current Medicare enrollment period and therefore a call subject to Do Not Call registry standards.

They've maybe got wrong info from who-knows-where?I'm employed at an Outpatient Mental Health Clinic, and I frequently get calls where CareSource wants to verify that a Member actually showed up for an appointment. (I guess it would be easy for one's to claim for an appointment that they didn't show up for)So it's not so much an 'event reminder' when they call here; it's more of an 'event verification'.And as all our Patients must present their Medical Cards at every appointment, it's easy to verify who is or isn't with CareSource.But if they were calling ME for no reason that I could think of, especially if there is no affiliation, I would surely follow suit with the 'do not call' registry thing. (hope they don't continue to hassle you.....)

I WAS JUST TOLDED BY CARESOURCE OF MICHIGAN THAT THIS IS A SCAM. THEY DO NOT CALL AND ASK FOR MEDICAL INFORMATION OVER THE PHONE.

Maybe you were "just tolded" (tolded?) by someone in Michigan, but whomever you spoke with does not know the people at this Caresource here in Ohio. This Health Agency I work for knows them & the People who call.Maybe you could ask your Michigan people who the "they" is that they "tolded" you about. A little research can remove a lot of doubt.

It's Caresource in Ohio. I have Caresource and they call me from this number if my family misses an appointment, to check on us if one of us has recently been seen by urgent care or the ER, and other things regarding our Caresource account. This is not a scam. This is legitimately Caresource in Ohio. If you received this call but have no affiliation with Caresource Ohio, it was most likely they miss-dialed a patient. All you have to do is let them know you are not a Caresource client.
