They called a number of times, finally I was able to here someone on the other end, and I told him this is Sunday and I don't do surveys. Also on my caller ID it displayed No known Name. Doesn't that send up a message? I hung up.
Keeps calling. Tried telling them the above but they still call... and I find it strange that about 30 mins after this number calls, someone calls with a block number... hmm
I am on the National "Do Not Call List" that apparently, unknown to me, has two exceptions: political calls/surveys and fundraiser/charity calls. I have taken a couple of the surveys as they are automated and they apparently are above the law on when and how often they call. Sometimes I answer honestly, but sometimes I just mess with them and answer the opposite of what I think. The last one came in at 9:20PM CDT last night and it is getting old, but there is nothing illegal about what they are doing, just distasteful and inconsiderate. I suspect that after the national elections, this will slow down or cease completely. My husband and I have decidede when his 97 year old mother passes, we are dumping the landline. For now, just screen your calls and pray for those who need the money ans for the volunteers who probably mean well and believe in their charity.
took most of survey the got hung up on after they promised me cash for completing survey. i called them at 1-800-753-6043 and told them to remove my number that do not call does not apply to surveys
See my post below. If they are non-profit or political calls, they are exempt from the national "Do Not Call" list. Non-Profits are raising money in the last quarter of 2012 when most people find they need a tax incentive/write-off and have extra cash donations to make. It is also about the national election coming next week. I get and recycle pounds of flyers and junk mail as well and just relax and do not pick up these calls. If you do not have caller ID, try to invest in it. At least you can register a complaint with the BBB if it is a public company (such as Scarborough Res), but after business hours, I just keep track of who's calling (my husband is recovering from a triple by-pass/pacemaker operation as well as diabetes type-2, so I try no keep things quiet in the evenings and when he naps by turning down the ringer volume or off as needed) and ignor them. If it is important, I will get a VM msg and decide whether to return the call. Rich, it is the age we live in. Try not to sweat the small stuff and do whatever you must to keep the peace in your home or office. When really enraged, I go outside and walk. It isn't fair, but acceptance and avoidance are your only options.
These people are calling constantly for weeks now ~ all hours of the day and night!!! Need this to stop!!!!!
