received a scam reply to my craigslist ad for a car for sale from mary floray - maryfloray@gmail.com the first contact made by this person just asked if the "ad" was still available and to contact them soon. I replied stating the vehicle was still available and i would be happy to show it. this is the final reply i received:"Thanks for the promptresponse.. I am ready to buyit now for brother and i am atsea at the moment as i am amarine engineer and due tothe nature of my work, visiting of website arerestricted but i squeezed outtime to check this advert andsend you an email regardingit. I really want it to be asurprise for my brother so i wont let him know anythingabout it until it gets deliveredto him, i am sure he will bemore than happy with it. Iwanna hear from you soon"scammer!! beware of mary floray!!

U got the same message from a guy names alex morgan, i knew it was fishy to begin with, i was just gonna look up the phone number to see where the area code was from and found all this. I was curious about one of the guys that said he sent them money. If they guy that sent the email was trying to buy something.... why did the person typing the advertisement send money? Did i just minsunderstand it? no biggie, was just curious. Thank you!! Oh Buy The Way Did I Tell You Use The Address Of An Empty House Near By, These Days There Should Be One Close By, Let Him Pay For Shipping, Tell Him Everything Went OK, Package Is On The WAY. Why? I received an email from someone listing this phone number regarding a craigslist item. Should I be suspicious? Thanks!

A person whom I know was selling an item on Craigslist for $800. A person by the name of Nelson Smith inquired about it. He then sent this person I know a CHASE check in the amount of $3500 via FEDEX PRIORITY OVERNIGHT with the name Theresa Eichelberger. There was a letter that said to go their bank and cash the check immediately then to wire transfer them the money via Western Union or Moneygram to a Charles Fitch located in Massachusetts. This guy also said that he would have someone pick up the item for him. He smelled scam and so did I, so we researched it and sure enough found lots of stories regarding this scam. I then decided to Google his email address nelsonsmithyousee@yahoo.com and sure enough I found this posting regarding the 2 emails you received. Please people don't fall for this! If we wouldn't have researched this, he would have probably been out $3500. Well, he would have waited for the check to clear for sure before making the wire transfer even if we hadn't read the postings instead of just transferring it immediately to the Charles Fitch guy as this Nelson Smith guy was hoping we'd do, but it saved us time.

It's a scammer telling you that they've overpaid for an item via money order/certified mail. They ask you to cash the check and send the "over paid" amount to them via western union. Your bank will realize it's a fake a few weeks later and you will be responsible for the money.

This time this person was contacting me as "Karen Johnson". She was wanting to purchase My Rims that I had for sale on Craigslist. The payment should be delivered to me on Monday. I just now found this site, cause we were curious where the number was from. So luckily we are aware now. In which we had suspected something anyway. I am gonna wait until the check comes and then report it to the authorities. So hopefully this person will get caught and punished. Thanks for the headsup!Hi,Thank for the prompt response to my mail.
