someone from this number "978-957-4464" keeps calling me, when i answer there is no one on the line. they have called me over 10 times in the past week. when I call the number back, i get a message "the phone number you have called is a non working number" or something like that. I am already on the do not call list but i guess that doesn't help.
They've been calling off and on for a few months. Woke me up twice early this morning. I'm on national and local do not call lists, which I keep renewing. I've reported them but.....Not sure they're really calling from the number reported by caller ID. May be spoofing it.Sounded like some type of call center... maybe an organized offshore ring using social engineering? Must be working for them because they sure don't give up. :(
5:47 am... Seriously??? Boy did I curse them out! And now I see that a lot of other people are getting these early morning spam calls. Call supposedly came from Massachusetts. The FCC needs to do something about these morons! It is unacceptable to wake people so early in the morning, especially when you don't get enough sleep as it is!
I was rudely woke up this morning sat 6:15 am by someone named Alex. He said in his foreign voice, I am calling about your Microsoft Computer. When I said do you know its 6:15, he replied, yes I know. I told him to quit calling me and he just kept on calling as I was hanging up. What a bunch of rude people. Its a scam. Somebody trying to make money off of unsuspecting people.
Called around 4:30 pm. Missed the first call, but got the story on the 2nd call 20 minutes later. In a heavy Indian accent, unfortunately too heavy to understand fully, I was informed there was a problem with my computer. Tried to keep him going as long as possible without laughing (he was on speaker phone). Told him the viruses that were coming from my computer were ones I had written and was trying to send out--didn't seem to phase him! He ended the call abruptly when I said "Unbuntu". This was my first "This is Microsoft calling to fix your computer" call. Glad I was able to share with all my friends.Call type is scam--there doesn't seem to be that type in the drop down list
I have had that call so many times, I can't even begin to tell you how many, so now I just don't answer. I have told them not to call, that I don't even own a computer. Has been going on now for over a year. This morning, they called before 8:00 AM, which is illegal, telemarketers are not allowed to call before 9 AM. How do they know, they are in India. www.donotcall.gov is a joke. I reported one, never heard a thing. Now I am getting one that says I have won 3.5 million and a new Mercedes Benz. Called before I was awake Saturday morning. Didn't have my glasses so couldn't tell who was calling before I answered. It says "unknown called". I told him I know it is a scam, quit calling. But they called back in the afternoon, I let it ring. Let the Microsoft thing ring this morning also. Need to go now, I have a referee's whistle around here someplace, need to find it. Maybe that will work.
The caller said they wanted to talk about my Windows products and I immediately knew it was a scam, and told him that I know it's a scam since I don't use Windows and for him to take my phone number off his list. Caller angrily cursed at me.
Someone from this number called me on my cell at 5:40am this morning.I am on the do not call lists and will report the issue everywhere I can to make it stop.
Same thing happened to me. They ask you run commands from the command prompt level to give them access to your machine. Luckily there accent was so bad I couldn't understand their instructions. I tried to call back to get more information on them to report them to the FBI but 978-957-4464 is a bogus number. (not in service when you call it back). I almost fell for it because at the time they called, I was troubleshooting my computer as it appears to have a nasty virus. Coincidence? This virus is bad!! It crashed Chrome and other browsers (except explorer), prevent allowing access to logmein to have outsiders help troubleshoot and deletes all restore points. Even when I tried a clean install it crashed the process! I still have not resolved this.
