It's a spoofed number. 987 is NOT used as an area code.

Just received a call from this number. The guy sounded like he was from Jamaica. Told me something was wrong with my computer. I told him my computer was fine because I was on it right now. He said, no ma'am, I have 3 messages from your computer and there are some problems. I told him he was full of Sh** and he better never call me again!! Click!!

Guy called my doctors office he sounded Chinese, he was prank calling us and said very dirty comments! Don't answer your phone!

This number just called me and I spoke to "San". He was very polite and nice but I already know the game. This is a scam. They claim they are with AT&T and want to give you "a better deal on your phone service". It is really just a scam to over bill you for services that you don't use or need. I have spoke numerous times to Preferred Long Distance (they have been cold calling my company for 2 years now) and I have been yelled at, cursed at, and hung up on. I politely told my story to him and asked him to take me off their calling list. They never do, but I hope this time he does. (A girl can dream, can't she?)

A spoofed number would be real. This number is not spoofed because it doesn't exist. It's purely fictional.

9876543210: Way too coincidental to be a real number.987 is not a valid area code.Obviously spoofed, and obviously being used for ILLEGAL purposes.I've noticed on spoofed invalid number calls there's usually no CID name, so if you get a number and no name, chances are it's spam and should not be answered.Soon my homebrew spam call blocker will know what area codes are valid or not and automagically block these losers.
