"This number is from ABSA Bank", but when calling back: "Thank you for calling ABSA Bank. This number is unattended." I'm not even banking with ABSA!

I just received a call from this number, the caller claimed to be from the "ABSA Pretoria FICA Dept", which already doesn't make sense since it's a JHB number. He started off by trying to get me to "confirm" all my FICA details, which can be used for fraud in the wrong hands. I told him I won't give those details to anyone but ABSA directly and he hung up on me - typical of scam callers. I reported the incident to Crime Stop/Crimeline.

I received a call from 011509 4000, while busy on another call, when I tried to phone back a recording in formed me that it was ABSA Bank, but that the number was unattended! So the no does exist!

I received a call that an attempt has been made to withdraw money from my credit card six times. The lady said that she was calling from ABSA card division and she can stop the money from being withdrawn.the call came on 01-10-2014 at 11:30. she also said that the card is stopped and my branch shall send me an SMS to tell me to come and fetch a new one. When I call the number I was told that the number is unattended.

I received a call 10 minutes ago from 011 509 4000, supposedly from ABSA, about my credit card. The caller new my name and when I answered that it was convenient to talk he first spoke about recording the call for security reasons and the first question after that was my date of birth and I smelt a rat and told him that I am not prepared to divulge personal information over the phone and ended the call.

got a missed call from the same number. when i called it said number does not existsi would like to know where its coming from
