Are you the recipient of this and other repeater numbers?In most cases, it's a bored telemarketer, sitting in the bullpen call center of a U.S.-based collection agent, who has spoofed this number, by keying it into their computer, using software that allows them to show whatever digits they wish on your caller ID.It's stupid because it's not going to get you to pick up any more than if you saw their actual number and company name, if you already have caller ID and are onto their tricks, but, they don't have anything better to do, especially as caller ID has so changed the game on them, despite the tremendous number of people (I am one of them, yes...I am not proud of it) that are in default.When you are going into default and know it, whether, like me, you're headed for bankruptcy (Chapter 7 - discharge) or not, if you don't want to hassled infinitely, then, keep or add caller ID to your phone service and do not pick up, if you don't know the caller, explicity. Your friends do leave messages. Note: they can spoof local numbers, too, although a local collections person who calls us seems to actually go to different phones to try to get us to answer, most likely because her company isn't big enough to afford the spoofing software.
