Hi. I am having the same issue as both of you and trying to figure out what it is. From what I've seen in this thread, the scam is similar for all of us. Same numbers texting our phones with links giving different bait such as: checking on credit, posing as phone companies, a fake friend telling you to look at something and more recently the issue seems to be spreading fake porn sites to us. Unfortunately I've been getting them too. I've been losing sleep over it and having nightmares and it's been traumatic for me. I've never had this happen to me...I talked to a couple of friends about it. One of them suggested it could be a virus we can catch on our phones that program messages to us. Think about it, the gibberish? These are not people. No one texts that way. I haven't tried it yet, but see if in your browser you can erase cookies. A hacker/computer may be using the data in our cookies to find out where to send this annoying spam to. Another idea is to maybe factory reset your phone. Back up all your files first because this will swipe all data. In theory it'll be just like new. You'll have to retrieve any cloud files and contact info before doing so. Someone try his out and tell me if this worked?

Terribly sorry sorry to hear your wife and innocent daughter have been receiving these horrendous messages. I especially sympathize with your daughter. I am you and getting these messages and it is traumatizing...are you certain this is how this spreads? Through email gateway and carrier?

I received multiple texts from this person, each one with a different dumber at the end. It started off with 0,1,2,3,and then 4. They won't stop no matter what I do.
