Got a call from 201-845-6009. The woman (who was pushy and rude from the start) said that she needed the mileage on my car asap so that she could get the extended warranty set, and noted that she was disappointed that I hadn't responded to any of the mail they had sent me. I asked her the name of her employer - she said "Warranty Activation". I asked her for her name and phone number so that I could call her back; she said that if I didn't purchase the warranty right now, the offer would be null and void. I told her that it sounded like a scam, and she hung up on me. I called the number back, an a recording said it was out of service.
I had received a call from 201-845-6009 which I did not answer. It came in at about 4:33 pm. At 5:05 pm I received a call from 515-412-4635 from Altoona Ia which is a suburb of Des Moines, IA. Since I have a niece that lives there I answered the call. An unidentified female ask for me and asked if I still drove my current vehicle.....I said NO. She said thank you and hung up. SO, I called 412-4635 back and the automated voice said the number had not been issued...so I added the 515 to it and got a robo voice that said Thank yu for calling, if you wish to have your number removed from our calling list press 1.....which I didn't. I again called the number leaving off the area code and got the robo voice again. Soooo it was a scammer probably wanting to try to sell me that stupid high cost vehicle extended warrenty. I just thought it was interesting that I first got the call from Rochelle Par..N.J then got the one from a fished local number.....
Calls no message left, sick of same ol calls all the time. I called # , doesnt even ring, just nothingness on line.
Do not say the word "yes" at any time.. they can take that out of context, cause they are usually recording your conversation, and they can put that word in any place in the conversation, and make it sound like you said the word "yes" that you agreed to buy the what ever they are selling, and they can use that against you... beware. the scammers are out therethe keep calling me their number shows up as 201-845-5009 one day, and the next day its a different number.
This number appears on my caller ID usually once or twice a week ... typically during the day when I'm not home to answer it. The number shows up as being from Hackensack, NJ. They called this morning wanting my husband; asked if I could help him and he said no. When I asked why he was calling and from where AND to remove us from their list, he hung up on me. He was a prick about it, too. Go figure.
