She was polite and helpful, Because she IS polite and helpful. Does this logically make sense that they would want to continue to call you and others when it is a dead end. They only get paid by the SUCCESSFUL leads utilized. They are not an information broker. They do not have the capability, Nor the desire to pass off (or sell) your number to anyone else. The server Lester has is a direct dialer server, Not a storage server. I worked there and I know exactly how the company operates, From Lead and account formation to completion. Stop spreading misinformation, It only causes things like this to continue. If you have no interest in a free Trade publication, Then by all means tell them to remove your number. They actually will. (You will have to give your number to them however because the dialer is automated and callers do not have your information!) I may not work at the company anymore, But I am certainly interested in helping people end the unwanted calls.

Do not want this call

This is the second time Lester, Inc has called. Before, I just deleted the number but I remember they did not leave a message.Today, 7/25/07, they called at 7:52 pm. I saw the name and number on the called ID but realized I did not have the answering machine on.

This makes you happy? To harass the person who didn't call you and who can actually help you have your number removed from the list? Hmmm, That sounds logical. Don't you have a job? Do you really have that much time to sit around being a passive aggressive sociopath? How old are you? It doesn't surprise me that schadenfreude is a readily available word in your vocabulary. I hope you are one in a million, But by reading these posts I can see I am outnumbered 10 to 1. I hope for your sake that you never have to endure true hardships only to see someone enjoying it. How sad that you are the rule rather than the exception in today's society.

Has called several times in the last month. i have a cell phone, and i never answer unless i recognize the number. they never leave messages. how can we get them to stop???

They don't leave messages because it is against company policy. They hang up quickly because they have quotas. The delay in the automated dialer will make it seem as though they are hanging up on you, They are not. They can sometimes here you, But they cannot speak because the dialer mutes the call when the call is disconnected. The callers cannot retrieve the call once they press hang up. They want to speak to a live person, It is unfortunate that the dialer has that delay, I can see that many people think that they are being hung up on.

I ask them everytime they call to remove us and they will not until they talk to my boss. I told them I have been told to cancel and free subscriptions but they keep calling back.They have the worst attitude and with an attitude like that they will NEVER get to talk to ANYONE because they will NEVER get past me.They want to confirm and update our address so that we keep receiving their free publication. I do not agree to free publications because Yellow Pages did that to one of my other office workers and they tried to hit us up for $4,500 for a subscription!Nope, nothing is for free.

Thanks for your help and input FormerLesterSupervisor . 95% of the time these callers are just people that have a job and are trying to make a living to support themselves and their families- I've been there in the past, as that receptionist. I know it can be annoying but in the grand scheme of things, these kinds of calls are really the very smallest annoyance in the course of my day. I try to save my anger for things like racism and the guy who's car apparently does NOT come equipped with turn signals.
