Introduced himself as a representative of University of Alabama system. Wanted to update their information to solicit for money.

I received a phone call from this number around 8:45 at night and it was a girl saying she was a student from UAB working for the College of Arts and Sciences and wanted donation money towards scholarships for students in the college of arts and sciences. I definitely thought it was a scam because who calls that late at night asking for donation money. Also they knew my personal information like name, address, phone number, and where I worked so that was a bit nerve-racking but then I thought maybe they really do work for UAB because how else would they have access to that information. Well this morning I called UABs College of Arts and Sciences to ask them was it a legit phone call or was someone pretending to represent them.They did tell me that it was legot and their students typically call between 5 and 9 PM to ask for donations for scholarships from alumni. I'm glad it was a scam but they really should only call during the universities operation hours not late at night!

They also just called me at 8:50pm. I would not mind the call, as it was a legit call from the College but calling this late is extreme to gather money from individuals & Alumni.

Got same call. Wife said no 3 times. Gal kept saying Thank you for your commitment of 200 dollars.Told her Loudly NO!!!!

I know it's frustrating and usually I launch into my "get a call blocker" speech but in this case it might actually be worth it to remove yourself from the alumni list. I had the same problem with my old alma mater. I'd get calls for all kinds of fundraising for the university. As quickly as I told one fundraising caller to remove from the list, a new would pop up. Turns out I had to register as an alumnus and specifically ask NOT to be contacted. Hang in there. ;-)

Im not even an alumni I'm still a student and they tried calling me!

I hate UAB calling me wanting money. Graduated two times from UAB with degree in Mechanical and Civil Engineering and the worse career possible even with a Professional Engineer License. Now I am unemployed and can't find a real job. And they have the nerve to call me wanting a donation :(

? How'd you get the PE without working? Four years of documented engineering work is required just to apply to take the PE exam.
