I think education has become to commercial. I've done contract work for UAB as well as graduated from there. Having worked as a telemarketer for a brief stint, it is saddening to see students pushed into this for business sake. The school makes enough money. That money should be managed better, instead of trying to be greedy or do any number of true and non true conspiracy theories as to how they deal with their money.
Caller at 5pm identified himself as a student representing UAB Athletics. Appeared legit but was not a good time to talk. Student was very polite. Probably selling tickets or soliciting money for program support. No reason to think this was anything other than what was represented. Reading other comments this seems to be a number from the UAB phone bank.

Comes up in my phone as a medical clinic, but when I called them they're some business that supposedly works with Medicare? I'm too young for medicare. Scam call.

Said they were from Bank of America calling me about a fraud alert on my account. When I told them I do not have an account with B o A - they hung up on me. Ironic!
They said it's a business call from northern light. Not real and clearly spam. Northern light must have its phone numbers data leaked.
Called today and left no message. No caller ID, so I did not pick up the call.
