This phone number is from the Texas Department of State Health Services. It is supported by the Federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The only reason that I know this is because I received a letter from them stating that they were conducting a survey to help improve the health of Texans in Travis County. It also has a DAVID L. LAKEY, M.D. (Commissioner) on the letterhead. There is another phone number listed on the letter from them: (888) 963-7111, Ext. 6593 . This number is if you want more information and have any questions.Hope this helps.
OK, so the government pays this private company to help the invade the privacy of the citizens of this country. You don't really know what happens to the information you disclose now or in the future.if you believe in the principles on which this country was founded, you don't need any other information to know that cooperating with this disgusting invasion of privacy is wrong. The end doesn't justify the means. Claiming to improve the health of people by systematically invading their privacy and asking questions that are NONE OF THE GOVERNMENT'S BUSINESS (and NONE OF "CLEARWATER" PRIVATE COMPANY'S BUSINESS) is a filthy deception.
Jason, I'm sure you're a genius Bro, but it's January 25 -- outside of the "1st-21st of each month" you chided another poster with earlier -- and Clearwater just called me. Also, the poster you chided didn't mention communists. That was only you. Grab a cold one and maybe consider the novel idea that you don't know everything.
They called me saying they were doing "research on the health of Indiana residents" I immediately told them that since I have had several scam calls about health issues, I did not wish to participate. She was polite, said she understood, but then wanted to give me information. I said no and hung up . Unfortunately, they have called back. I do not believe this is a legit call. Beware.
Well even if this is legit (and it seems it might be based on info I found on the CDC web site) there are two things to note. First, they keep calling my cell phone and they are NOT SUPPOSED TO CONDUCT THESE SURVEYS ON PEOPLE'S CELL PHONES - ONLY LAND LINES. (This is in the script of the survey you can find on the CDC site of 2014 questions).Secondly, I HAVE A RIGHT TO SAY NO. I HAVE A RIGHT NOT TO PARTICIPATE. I HAVE A RIGHT TO SAY STOP CALLING MY CELL PHONE. I HAVE A RIGHT TO CHOOSE NOT TO SHARE PERSONAL HEALTH INFORMATION WITH A COMPLETE STRANGER OVER THE PHONE.
