I kept having this number show up on my Caller ID. I finally answered tonight and it's just a NY State Department of Health survey. Others on here have verified the DoH uses this company for surveys. I decided to go along with it. The questionnaire is kind of long, but the questions were pretty general and non-identifying -- typical survey stuff. Includes things like in what time range was your last checkup, do you smoke, how much (range to choose from), do you drink, how much (range to choose from), how often do you take multivitamins, do you exercise, weight, height, within what time span was your last mammogram, family planning topics, do you have health insurance, etc. and you have choices of answers to give (yes, no, or multiple choice). Seems to me to be gathering statistics. Still, I am on a Do Not Call registry.... I'm not sure if this company is one of those types that are exempt or not. Yes, survey-takers can be robotic. But after a couple of calls where I'd have to talk that much and ask so many questions, offering a list of answer choices, I'd go into Robot Mode, too.
Scammers and ID theft ring. Unfortunately for them they contacted a secure location where all incoming calls are traced to their physical location. This is 2016 and spoof caller ID numbers are irrelevant. Protocol will have a team dispatched to their location.
I agree with almost everyone in the comments shown above. Why does the NY Dept.Of Health think that it is appropriate for complete strangers to ask personal health questions ? I believe everyone is entitled to employment, however, any intelligent adult looking to make a living these days must realize after being hung up on more than once a shift, there's gotta be a better way to make a living! In this age of "robocalls" people are just fed up !
208-376-3376 "clearwater research" has been calling my parents phone for months. At one point I asked "What do you want?". The guy said it was the New York Dept of Health doing a study and that they needed to speak with the second oldest male adult in the household. I said NO and DO NOT CALL and TAKE THIS NUMBER OFF YOUR LIST. They continue to call almost daily. I usually just answer and hang up on them lately. Yesterday they called and ARGUED when I said TAKE THIS NUMBER OFF YOUR LIST...he said "we dont have a list" and "But this is a very important study". My suggestion: BUY AN AIR HORN. No matter how "polite" some find these teleharassers, theyre goddamn annoying and suspicious. Tell them the second eldest male cannot come to the phone because he's cleaning his guns. :-)
I personally work for clear water research and you are all retarded. We are contracted by the health department to conduct these surveys. Your tax dollars pay for it. If you don't want to do the survey, your tax dollars go to waste and to the employees pockets. The surveys are conducted to gather statistical and demographic information about health care practices for specific areas. There is no scam. This is just a telephone study used to help prioritize government spending.
