Asking for a money for police and firefighters. I don't know if they are legit. I asked to have my phone number removed. We'll see.
Got a call from them, hung up before they could finish their spiel. Many of these types of charities are scams, with the organizers pocketing most of the money, with very little going to the organizations they claim to benefit. And why are they calling San Jose, CA, when they are several counties over? Oh yeah, because people who live in that are have no money to donate.
Caller ID listed as Atwater,CA. Phone rang twice and caller hung up, before machine could even screen the call.
I don't answer..if it is someone asking for charitable donations, I never agree to give over phone..our charitable giving is done locally where I know where the money really goes
