My cell phone is logging this number and other scammer numbers when i call from it...has this happened to anyone else and how did you solve it...my number is private

Keep getting calls from this number. I won't answer them. Would like to block this number.

I too received the exact same message and circumstances. Call on home phone from blocked number followed immediately with on my cell for the 212-619-9999 on ID. Scam or not?

I don't own credit cards so they need not call me either. But if that's how they have fun Calli g people and acting weird then let it be. Glad I don't live like that

received several calls from this number on my cell phone...no messages were ever left. I finally answered (was curious and wanted to put an end to the annoyance of the number popping up constantly). As I suspected, the caller immediately made my usually gullible self quite suspicious that this was a scam. I questioned the fact that I was "unconditionally approved" by the state for a $5K GRANT! when I asked where my information was even derived from, I was told that I had been on the internet looking and had, at some time, "clicked at something"....hmmm, if that didn't send off bells and whistles in my head nothing ever would! I was also told that this was a real US Government agency just looking to "help" people in real need of getting lives back on track. I tried to keep the person on the phone while googling the supposed NY (212 area code) phone number ..... ah hah! The number came back as this page that I'm now typing on!!!! All as suspicious as I thought! I then picked up the house phone (call came in on my cell phone) while still maintaining the call on my cell and I dialed this 212-619-9999. What do you think? My expectations were confirmed: there was a recording stating "This number has been DISCONNECTED or not assigned". Thank goodness, with all the pleading going on by my caller and all my gullibility, I trusted my sixth sense this time..... TRUST Yours!!!!!! do NOT fall for these scammers! obviously, if it sounds too good to be true, it IS too good to be true.....this is another group of people just looking to capture your bank info for their own use.

Says it is a PC repair calling about your PC wanting you to open up ports that would make all your personal information available to them to steal your identity

I just received all call from 212 619 9999. Said it was a NY, NY number. I didn't answer-never do if number is unknown. I looked it up and several sites said it was a SCAM. Never ever answer a call unless you know who it is!

Got a call from a local area code number saying that due to the fair credit act that I may be due to have my credit card account lowered. I decided to press 1 who wouldn't want to owe less money proceeded to ask me what primary credit card has the highest balance i said my discover then ask for the last four digits of the card...still thinking it was legit i told him. Then asked me for the last 4 digits of my SS# told him i wasn't giving it to him. He insisted and raised his voice. I told him I didn't have time to talk he stated that he was going to report me and that all my credit cards would be closed because I'm not the primary account holder. I said I was, I'm looking at the bill now. I hung up, he called me back and it came across as the 212-619-9999 number. I answered it was this guy again. Then threatened me to close the accounts. I told him I didn't care, i don't use them anyway. Positive this is a scam, don't answer and don't provide them any information.

Got a call from this number today (7/28/2017) but since I did not know that phone number I let the answering machine pick it up figuring it was another one of those scams. They did not leave a message. I have then blocked that number.
