I started getting these calls after registering my resume on monster.com. I spoke to a girl initially who transferred me to some guy who claimed his name was "Ashle from National Debt Services" and spoke with a very thick pakistani accent informed me that charges were being brought against my social security number because I owed $700-some odd dollars for a payday loan and he would take a payment of $350 over the phone with my credit card and write the rest of the debt off if I paid it right then and there. I have never had a payday loan, and how exactly do you bring up charges against a social security number? LoL. I'm a legal student, so I humored him for a little bit until he finally got upset and told me that he would have the sheriff at my house to arrest me early the next morning... a Sunday, mind you. I told him I was looking forward to meeting him. Of course nothing ever came of it, they're just trying to rip off unsuspecting people. Block the number, and if you do happen to answer don't give them any information. That's all you can do.

This is (one of many reasons) why NO one should post their personal identifying information on this or any other job website. Monster.com had a major security breech several years ago in which someone hacked into their website and stole personal data. Apparently it is still going on unabated.

i got my first phone call from this number.tried to call it back but got disconnected also.has anyone ever answered this number when it called?

i have verizon , and this perp has been calling for days , 2x somedays. i haven't answered it yet - not gonna either. i haven't set up the call block service that verizon offers ( i used to have it , then when they went digital , had to re-do it ) and they told me it was pointless cuz the telemarketers have software that is more powerful than the blocks. call intercept was sooo nice b4 they beat it down and made it useless . suck.

this number was a solicitation to furthur education.

OMG- this number called your cell !!! well , even though the "do not call " list is a dud , you can def put your name on a cell-do not call list. you know, ya get it in an e-mail ( just b4 they went public ) and i've never gotten a junk call on the cell. imagine trying to sell something so bad , that you call the whole country ( i'm in mass) what an [***] this dude is...........

I have no idea who the company is, but they have been calling my boss also. I work night shift and I can't sleep for these people. The number they are calling from is 714-441-5861. They left a message on my bosses phone stating they wanted my lawyer to call them. Can this be stopped?

i do not owe anybody anything , so it can't be a bill collector. it has to be a sales call, i guess. i haven't tried to answer it and they never leave a message. classic sales call - at least bill collectors leave a message and they do kind of have a reason to call - unless you were an identity theft victim - you borrowed $ or have unpaid medical expenses. i just want this number to stop calling my house.

When these Nigerians or their surrogates call use your hand held phone to answer. When you're talking to them just pick up a landline phone and bring the two together. The feedback is ear piercing.
