How do you you know it is AVA Consulting; as I cannot get a hit. The only hit I get is AVA Consulting in NH
It's a recruiting company but if they leave a message it is very difficult to understand and worse when they answer the phone as they talk very quickly and with a heavy accent. They also do not look over their resumes very well. They called me in CA for a junior position when my resume cleary shows 10+ years of experience in addition to 6 more that I made note of in my resume.
I just got one too, and from the static you can tell it's an offshore type of call through a telecom hub. It was a wrong number (asking for someone else) and they got angry with me because they screwed up.
Seems like a scam to me! I just got a call from them too offering me a design or engineering position. Not exactly sure what all it entailed because I couldn't hardly understand anything they were saying, they even gave me another person to speak with because the first was so bad, the second person wasn't much better. What kind of recruiting agency uses people who can't even speak clear english. I think its a scam the number does not show up in yellow pages or any other phone directory site even though some of you said it is AVA consulting something does't seem right. They asked for my birhtdate, I said NO! Then they wanted to send me an email so I could give them my signature and fax or scan/email it back to them. I dont think so! I have never heard of a job offer requesting that, why would they need that just for an interview. They said it was for a right to consent form, never heard of that so i looked it up and the closest i could find was a right to consent buyer form, but i'm not buying anything. I think it a scam, DON'T TELL THEM ANYTHING!!! If they are a legitimate company they will better there practices and not ask for such personal info.
Thanks John for the information. It does seem a little suspicious to get a recruiting call at 809am, 816am, and 819am all in the same morning. This is exactly what happened. The lady, named Grace, never said who she is calling for. Additionally, I've never submitted my resume to this company so how in the world did they get it? The voicemails she left, are very monotone and fast so I can't understand a word she is saying. I don't trust this one bit and should I get a returned call I will be asking them to remove my number from their database.
I received a call from this number on 03/10 and figured it was a recruiter. They did not leave a message when I did not answer. If you have your resume on any legitimate (monster, dice, etc), and probably illegitimate, job site then they will find you. I have to agree with several other posters about the heavy accents on a lot of recruiters these days and my inability to understand them. I prefer not to do business with people I can't understand.
