I just received a voicemail from this number as well, with no information other than they found my resume and if I'm interested in the position to call him back. I couldn't understand his name, but thanks to all of you I won't be returning the call. Thank you!
I too just got one from "Ben", having worked for Earthlink at time when they outsourced to India I know that over there they have all their phone reps take on "common American names" as an alias; Ben is very common for men and Susy or Mary for women.I too was asked to sign and fax back a consent to proceed letter...DONT DO IT! If they have no one local you can go in and speak with, actually shake hands with - DO NOT PROCEED, instead RUN AWAY!
Got a call from AVA Consulting regarding a position that I had just I applied to directly through the posting company's website. Represented self as recruitment firm and hiring for a position with Dell, but the posting was an exact match for another company's posting which was not Dell. Very confusing and everytime I tried to clear up, "Nathan" would make very bizarre statements. Accents were very thick and hard to understand. Did not get as far as others and this information helps reinforce the decision not to proceed.
I have worked with AVA Consulting for the past several years on a few different assignments. Their employees are professional, and helped me find positions that fit my skills and capabilities. They have been attentive to my needs, and provided excellent help with my job search. They also took the time to answer all of my questions, and made sure I had all of the information that I needed. I would recommend working with AVA Consulting. They are efficient and easy to work with to find a job!
How can you say they were professional when they can hardly speak english abd are most definitely from another country. Contacted BBB and they could not find anything on them, positive or negative. Have you encountered many people with American names that sound either Iranian or Indian. I would be very suspicious of this company.
The number is AVA Consulting, a recruiting firm. I could barely understand the person who called and left a msg, about a job in my area. Then I rec'd an email from this same person. It lists the address of AVA Consulting as 1202 Richardson Drive #112, Richardson, Texas 75080. In the email it starts off with :We have a new requirement we would like to share with you"...um, yea. I don't think so.
2 calls this morning before 9 AM and no messages. Since my resume is posted everywhere, I am assuming I know why and how I got these calls. As an answer to the coupe of posts above this one, yes, I have encountered Indian accented people with Americanized names almost every day of my job search. And regardless what their phone number say, they call from overseas where the phone banks can be populated for 1/10th of the money compared to US. Unfortunately, this is the sad state of tech recruitment in this country. Not much anyone else can do. If you need a job, you have to work with these people or go carry milk crates for the grocery store.
That is because people from India are worthless recruiters. They are used to working in call centers. They need to get on the boat and head back to India
I had one Indian recruiter send me an email stating I am a perfect fit for a Java developer position. I know absolutely nothing about Java. My resume says SQL DBA. Reading resumes is not their strong suit.
