Got call at 4am!!!! When called back an automated voice told "Please wait while I connect your call" followed by long music, hang up after a min, not sure how to avoid these crazy calls.

i recieved a call from 214-586-0999 margaret lopez of clayton mexico. tonight 4-10-07. she threatoned me and my family. then hung up. here is the big joke so beware. the scam is to get u to call back so she can get a cheap thrill or say she is the one who is being harassed. knowing here real phone num and being on meds 4 a psych condition compulive disorder i take the bait. alot of calling cards on the market have num as such and ive recieved many calls from places like palm springs and beverly hills places that would confuse me.many times i had calls where she faked as suicide threat or love hate type. these numbers are not untraceable but very hard to explane.

the number kept call me over and over on Apr. 11 morning. I do not want the number call me again.

Signed up with Vonage. Literally 30 sec later, I get 214-586-0999 on my caller ID. WTF. I was not able to answer or anything so I guess I let it go to voicemail (I wonder if it's even set up already). I just put the number in google and found this thread.

I just received a telephone call from this number...can't explain it and it gave me some concern as I have recieved telephone calls from this number in the past...how can we stop it?

Line seemed dead when answered. No one would respond.

I received a call from a co-worker from Mexico. Usually the number shows up as 'unknown number', but this time it was 248.586.0999. Weird.

Today about 11:30AM PST, I received a call from this number 214-586-0999. I have Vonage. I think Vonage is giving out my telephone number because I have received so many telemarketing calls where I know I haven't given out my number or signed up with any telemarketing or merchants online!I have been receiving telemarketing calls now in droves since about December of 2006. I believe Vonage is selling our numbers and names to telemarketing companies! They have already been sued, so now why are they doing this?I tried to call back the 214-586-0999, but I only received a recording that said "Please hold on and we'll connect your call". After that this porn type techno music came on and stayed on! Never did connect me. I am sick of this crap!

Answered call and the caller quickly hung up. very odd. If it is a routing number, the scam could be linked to cheap phone cards as well. I'd suggest not answering it and looking very closely at your next phone bill.
