I just receive a phone call from 214-586-0999 I heared some lady saying something in spanish but when I answer repeated "hello, hello" she stay quiet and hung up, so, I came to internet to see if I can find who was that number from and I found all this reports. I called back to that number and the anwering service put me a tecno musica just like Charles said in jun 2007. oh well!

i used to work for ibfa, which by the ways spelled backwards is afbi, whcih is american farm bureau inc. jim and casey (casmir)bought the company frthe farm bureau, its a phone company that happens and this is why it happens.when a call is placed from a pay phone or home phone it goes thru several phone companies and by law the call has to be tracable. so even when you use caller id blocking the phone companies know what the # is that your calling from. and that info is transfered from phone copany to phone company as your call is being routed (switched) a stupid quirk in the voip programing language astrix (which is freeware) it would have a hard time with caller id blocking or when calls are placed from payphones , especially ones that dont allow call backs, so when someone is calling you using there calling card and astrix didnt know whqat caller id to send to your phone (company) it would give it a # that was registered to IBFA, so if the feds ever need to know who placed that call or where it was placed from when the did a search on that international # it would come back as being owned by ibfa, ibfa could them look back at the logs of date and time of that call and give them the # that the previous phone company gave them as teh originating #. also that when CABS have to be paid to other phone carriers for carryingthat phone call X amount of distance they know who to bill for that portion of the callits just a quirk in the astrix voip programing language, it happens sometimes and not others, its been like chasing a ghost on why it happens.again the call didnt originate outside the country.

This number appears on my caller id at least 3 times a day. Will they ever leave me alone! :(

I received a call from this number yesterday, I picked up and it was my nephew calling from Germany. I believe he was calling from his home phone there and the number is nothing like the 214... number showing up on my caller ID

Just got a call from this number. It was my boss in London. I'm in the US. Weird.

An Update: I've been tracing the calls through my phone company. The Attourney Generals Office is handling it now since 9:57a.m. today I have received 9 calls from 214-586-0999 in 2 1/2 hours! Will it ever stop? I don't want to change my number, What else can I do? Any suggestions?

ok, here\'s some juicy intel on this...3 calls to me all sounding like gurgle tones. (I only briefly answered hello)...1. +52 844-411-40002. +52 894-105-50793. 214-586-0999All happened within the space of 10 minutes.

This must be some relay problem because my husband called me from Iraq on his T-Mobile cell phone and it showed up as this number. Or maybe the Feds tapped the line...weird!
