The FTC idea would be a good one if anyone in government ever did anything. The FTC under GWB and, probably now under the big O, is useless. Consumers have lots of government agencies who are supposedly ready to do battle for us. Businesses, however, have lots of money to buy a "pro-business" stance from Congress. I am not anti-business; I am anti-fraud. I've used the FTC site several times over the years after reading similar complaints and enjoying the calls/scams, too. Result? Nada.
I got a call from this number today and a machine told me to press "1" to lower my credit card interest rate down to 6%. So I went ahead and press "1". I got transfered to a guy claiming to be from some credit company and ask for my name. After giving my him my name I asked him which credit card will be lowered cause they should know this information. But he hung up afterwards.
They call asking about lowering credit card rates. I pressed 1 and the phone rang some guy answered and asked me if I wanted to lower credit card rates. I asked him what company was he with and he hung up on me. SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i am on the do not disturb list and i have no idea who this company is. I tried to return the call and it says caller is not accepting calls.
Automated recording says I can lower the interest rates on my credit cards. "Press 1 to speak to a live operator." disconnected before I could press anything.
Just like Mike B, I am getting frequent calls from these clowns. I am not sure if the number is exactly the same, but it is always the same call. I, too, have waited for a person to come on the line SEVERAL times, and when I ask them to remove me from their calling list, they always hang up on me. This last time, I shouted it in the guy's ear when he started speaking.I am going to the FCC to complain. I am so sick of this!

I received a text with this phone number stating that it was from the United States Postal Service and that I needed to open up an urgent notice from them.
called and then hung up, left him a kurt voicemail about wasting peoples time. scammers are prevalent, be careful and don't answer this call
