Receiving calls from debt collector and attorney threatening immediate legal action for a Martin _________ (our last name). We have been receiving these calls for 3-4 years from many different area codes and numbers (all from California to begin with now from all over). Started out answering and advising we knew no one by that name. After many times, gave up and no longer answer numbers we do not recognize and especially those who leave a message for Martin.

No it isn't! All you have to do to clean up your BBB rating is pay them! BBB is a scam in itself to give people a false sense of safety.

Having never been to Illinois I find it hard to believe that you people aren't scammers. If this were real you'd put it in writing like you're supposed to do!

Got a call from 217-717-4287 saying my ten year old son owes a ticket in the amount of $500.00. NOW tell me it isn't a scam!!

Got a call from these bottom feeders Friday about a traffic ticket my daughter supposedly owes in Southern Illinois. Didn't answer but at least they left a message. She hasn't lived with me for more than 30 years so they're harassing potential relatives. I know for certain that she has no outstanding tickets or fines - she was getting harassed by a different company 2 years ago and we obtained a letter from the county cited to prove the fine was paid. No matter what 'Shannon' says, this company dredges up old, inaccurate lists of debts and goes after them, tacking on a 30% fee on top of financial charges, fees and so on. The article from the Southern Illinoisian cited in another post noted that these finds of debts older than 7 years can mostly be ignored, and they can't post traffic offenses to your credit record since it's not consumer debt. ' Needless to say, if you do have a fine, you should pay it and pay it when you incur it. But as one judge in the article said, aanything older than 7 years is not fair to collect because it's unlikely you have any documents to prove you have paid. At any rate, I blocked them.

Received a call from this number about 15 mins ago. They left no message & was identified as "unknown name". I then ✔️ for information on the number & read the info provided on this page. I have not received information re: tickets in the mail, have not been stopped by the police & have no bills. So again I ask WHY?

Caller named Abby (she sounded fat and like she was eating) left a message saying that I had an outstanding speeding ticket from Illinois. I've never been to Illinois. The call back number Abby left was for CCP at 217-717-4287. Looking that number up on this website reveals it's a scam collection agency. Abby's Caller ID was 210-787-2433. Just added two new numbers to my Block List! Also, trying to find Abby on Facebook since I bet she makes a mean pasta!

Yep, I work at CCP. Many of the calls we make are to get in touch with the defendant of court fine, not to be confused with attempting to collect debt from a "wrong party". If we speak with you and you are not the defendant we take your number out of our system. How is that difficult to understand? Geez. Many Illinois court fines can be validated at www.judici.com. Our county government clients and indirectly, the taxpayers those counties, are grateful for our kind customer-service based approach to this unique widespread problem.
