called 7 times in the course of 1 HOUR - real cute, using a blatantly phony number so no one can trace it back to them...dirtbags
I get too many annoying calls, but this particular one I received this evening differed in that they responded to my hello in a foreign language. It sounded middle eastern/arab. It wasn't european, asian, nor spanish. Needless to say, I haven't a clue what they said nor do I know if it was a recording.
stating that i had a virus on my pc, My pc had supposedly contacted microsoft and informing them that i have a virus on my pc. I went through it for a moment while my wife googled the situation. Complete scam, they were eventually going to ask or recieve access and then want to charge 185 dollars to remove the virus while they have already planted bugs in. Be aware, as Darren did, I exploded with aggressive profanity
The caller from this number said that he was Online Tech Support and the only licensed Microsoft tech support in the world. He was calling to tell me that my computer is compromised and he could fix it for free or a very small fee. I hung up
Ask to call and validate my credit card account that is close to expire. I have no other credit card than the Visa with my bank. The call is notfrom Visa. This is second time they call. First time they proposed a reduction on my credit card interest rate. All is a pre-recorded message.I want this to stop. Can you help me?

I called Citibank's other number and confirmed this was their Consumer Support number. It is legitimate. Processed the information they needed to verify my account. I originally thought it was fraud but it is real.

We receive calls at our place of business from these people every day and they claim to be with Spectrum. It sounds like a call center in India; noisy background noise and each person who calls has a strong accent.
