Called today, I answered to amuse myself, but it wasnt a live idiot, it was a recorded message, I had won two tickets for a free cruise, all I had to do is take a small survey, then I would be given ticket info.I hung up having no desire to play games with a faux survey.I am classifying as survey as there is no prompt for "devious caller".
ditto,. I will use the links provided above by cme in reply to ted. to report, thanks for info. cme
Called and said I won a disney trip....hung up since my phone is on no call list and I entered no contest
I've received at least 12 of these calls. I don't answer because I don't know anyone in that area code. All these calls are at approximately 7:30 pm. I'm also on the Do Not Call list, but that doesn't seem to help. I will file a complaint on the fcc website.
Repeated phone calls from this number 240-538-4399, when you try to call back to get them to stop calling you received a message that says, "I'm a piece of [***] telemarketer and my voice mail got hacked because I like to call people at 9 A.M. who work 3rd shift. So go [***] yourself."
Very persistent little buggers. I was on a phone interview, and they called 3 times! I have placed them on my blocked list. (I have a Galaxy S4)
Yeah you are full of crap. It sure as hell does not work that way in the telemarketing world. I worked telemarketing for 9 years. When you realize you and everyone else in your neighborhood had the same call you might understand how "robo" calling works. The "robo" dialer works by calling every number combination the operator sets as a possible call, i.e. (651) 000-0000 next number is (651) 000-0001 then (651) 000-0002 until it finally completes with (651) 999-9999 while doing this the dialer eliminates all fax machine numbers, all disconnected numbers, and all calls that were actually answered etc. Then depending upon what the bossman wants to do, tomorrow they may run through the same numbers, minus any that answered, were fax numbers or disconnected numbers or they may just move on to another area. If the number was called but not answered it means nothing except exactly that, you didn't answer. The facts are very, very, very few successful telemarketing operations would share their answered calls with ANYONE, EVER. So why you people think you have got the upper hand by not answering your phone is beyond me... You still get the calls, and being every "robo" dialer can be programmed to skip blocks of numbers, not call people who are on the no-call list, not to call businesses etc. you are include simply because you have a phone number, answer or don't, answer the phone yell and scream and have a fit or don't, it won't change a damn thing. By the way, they are called predictive dialers, not robo call number capture.
What a bunch of crap! What is with you people who apparently can't comprehend what they read yet have a burning desire to spread their ignorance around as factual? I worked in the world of scams that is telemarketing for 9+ years and only quit due to morality issues, just could not watch our company rake in millions one call at a time by appearing to be someone the callee believes is honest i.e. Firefighter, Sheriff, State Patrol Troopers Association, Vietnam Vets, Breast Cancer Victims, Children's Cancer Fund, and any other charity phone call you ever receive, scams.Go ahead, I'll answer any questions anyone has about telemarketing, just don't push your crap off as factual, not everything you read is true... Wanna donate money where it will actually benefit the sick, needy etc.? Give to the Salvation Army, St. Jude's, or walk your donation in to your local firefighters, police, hospice or hospital, just don't ever give a dime to anyone who calls for money!! (there are many place to donate your money that will actually use it for good). AND A HINT FOR THE WISE... NEVER TRUST THE B.B.B. they are a FOR PROFIT BUSINESS, If you are a business that receives a bad rating from the BBB, you can easily fix that by joining the BBB and paying your dues. (we were told as a scamming organization if we paid right around $1500.00/month a drop in the pool, we would receive a better rating!! )
