So, I got calls every day last week from this number and I tried to call it back one day to see if they would answer the phone with a company name, but it said it could take up to 60 minutes to connect my call. So anyways, the next time they called was friday last week and so I picked it up to see what they wanted. This lady told me in some hard to understand words that our computers could be infected . I told her we have 5 computers in the house, how does she know which one. Silence.....I said "HELLO"???? She said yes I hear you. I said why didnt you answer me? She again was silent. So I said really sloooooowwwwllllyyyy "How do you know which computer it could be?" And again she was silent. I said HHHEEELLLLLLLLLOOOOOOO???? Like about 7 times while my fiance was sitting here wondering what the hell is going on and I am trying to not laugh at this lady. So finally I said to her "Do you have to speak english as a requirement for this job"? So then she got mad and got another guy to come to the phone. He explained what the call was about and I told him all of our computers are fine, you need to speak to a supervisor about this lady because she is not good at her job, and you need to put me on the do not call list. he said ok. Call was over.Well, now it's monday and I got another call. So I smiled and picked up the phone and another lady told me what the call was about. So I proceeded to tell her we have more than one computer how would you know if they are infected? And.....SILENCE! I thought for a second it was the same dumb lady from friday! But it wasn't. This one tried to explain that one of them could be infected from the internet and blah blah...So I was arguing with her and then I finally said that I talked to someone on friday and told them nothing is wrong with our computers and to not cal anymore. She continued to argue with me and asked what I wanted to do. I said I just told you I want to speak to a supervisor and not be called anymore. She refused to let me speak to a supervisor and said you don't even know what the company is called so what are you going to do about it? She was just a rude [***]. I asked her how do I know you're not a terrorist trying to steal my information? Which made her even more mad and my smile bigger. I was yelling at her because she was just totally cocky and refused to get a supervisor. I asked her if she was really that secure about her job that she could be a total [***] on the phone and be rude to me. And she said yeah, and then she hung up on me.Obviously the people calling from this place are a bunch of [***] sitting in a warehouse somewhere in Tacoma, Washington according to the area code trying to get people's information. If they call back I will answer and proceed to piss of the next person. :) It seems there isn't much we can do to get these people to stop calling, so I say why not have fun with it??? HAHAHA
I was called by this number a few minutes ago and again a couple seconds ago while reading this page. Both times I said hello and there was a long static pause until the other end hung up. Nobody spoke to me either time. They may not have said anything because I answered the phone with my business name. I don't know if that would matter to them or not.
I got a similar call from the same number but ask about my house payment and that I was going to receive a reduction in my payment. Knowing he was full of it, I went along. He ask how much I paid a month. I told him and he hung up on me. Not sure what he was trying to do but a bit disturbing to me. He said he was calling from Los Angeles CA but after some very easy searching, I found he using a land line at a home worth about 219K in the state of Washington (Auburn) He better watch out as I now know where he lives, which is just outside of I-5. I did attempt to call the number back and it said it would take up to 60 minutes to do something and then it asked me to press 1 for the conference center and 2 to see what was available. I did type in a number which took me to a music hold which I did not hold on long enough to even connect or be charged for.
I posted earlier, this is a landline out of Auburn Washington, just of hwy I-5. He is really going to piss somebody off. I think I may call the Auburn Police to go pay him a visit.
got a call from this number today, March 15 2011. Suspected it was a telemarketer scum low-life but answered anyway just to see. After my initial hello i heard nothing for half a second which means it's a telemarketers auto dialer so i hung up right away."Friends don't let friends become telemarketers"
I got a call from this number today. A middle eastern man asked for me by name (first & last). He sounded abit unsure of the pronunciation but I left as nothing to worry about. Then he started talking about my computer and all the hazards it could face. When he asked me to goto a web site to have a tech look at my computer remotely I told him no. He countered with I would have complete control, I told him no that anyone calling me out of the blue wanting control of my computer is a scammer and told him not to call back.
I received a called from this number at my workplace (Non-Profit). We are a Canadian organization so when I saw the number on my call display, I didn't bother answer. I'm glad I did.
I am a P.I. and received a call from this number, did some digging and figure they are using a spoof card. Number is no good and any info extracted from it is un-reliable at best. It's a scam of some sort, don't know what kind as I did not give the guy a chance to explain. I maintain all my computers and they are Macs so his story about Windows doesn't fly...lol.Anyway be careful, who knows what these people want.
