Just got this call from the same number. I am in Toronto, Canada with Rogers. How did they get my cell no. ?
Stop calling my cell, you scammers, they call within minutes of a previous call, this needs to stop lots of complaints from Canadians I see
Just don't answer calls from numbers you do not know. DNCL is useless - non-Canadian companies just laugh at it, Canadian marketing orgs negotiate loopholes in the legislation. Only solution is to ignore unknown callers. If everyone did this it would not be econcomic for the callers. Sadly, it won't happen - too many morons answering their phones :[
Called me a few times in the last week. Im on the DNCL in Canada and this is BS. what is the point of having the list if people can call you anyway. Im with Virgin and do not post my cell # anywhere on the net. I just renewed my number on the DNCL a month ago yet people are still calling so Im positive Virgin (and probably all of them) sell their customers numbers.
Amy, maybe you are just naive but that is really bad advice. I registered my home and my cell number and my wife's cell number with the DNCL when they first started it and within in a few weeks the number of unsolicited calls we received on all three numbers spiked. Coincidence? I think not. The government publishes and/or sells this info! Yes, Canadian companies who violate the rules can be fined even if the calls originate from outside Canada but companies based solely in the USA the government here has no jurisdiction nor any means of imposing any sanctions. My advice?1) Get an unlisted home number if you still use a land line;2) Don't publish your phone numbers anywhere on-line (i.e. Facebook, Linked In);3) Don't answer any calls from area codes you don't immediately recognize;4) Get voicemail so if it is an important call from someone you know or a company you do business with they can leave a message. But be generic with your answering message. Don't give too much info. The first two steps won't stop the auto dialer calls but will slow down others. The last is most effective for the out of country telemarketing and scam calls. If it is a call from anyone you know who is traveling and needs to reach you, hopefully they will have enough sense to leave a message with a call back number.
I received two calls in a minute also, and no voicemail left. Thank goodness I didn't pick up. I hope this number doesn't keep calling on a daily basis!!
Yeah I do the same have 4 numbers in it and phones set to not ring, blink or beep of any kind when they call
