They called three times to my house but I never answer when returned one day the call they said: are you sure we call to your number. Hello so why you think am calling back to see what is going on.
This was my first call from this number. I don't anyone anything so the only thing I can think of is they are trying to collect from one of my kids. I'm not calling them back, they can flake off.
Well, Universal Fidelity now has a problem. Made the mistake of a lifetime. FFDCPA states as most have found out, yes, they can call as many times as they want until they actually make contact. Then they have to wait 7 days. But in this instance since they are using an auto dialer and only leaving a message, there is a different standard. In my case they called after 9pm (my time)and then left the usual message at 9:15pm. A clear violation of Public Law. They can only call whether it is live or automated between the hours of 8am to 9pm. If either even comes close to 9pm they are instructed to terminate the call or stop their automated system. Again, in my case after 9pm, not only the call but the message as well happened after 9pm. It's really going to suck to be them tomorrow. I've got proof of the call and the message times on my phone which is now evidence.
I have received about 50 calls from these people on my cell phone which I rarely give out the number. I at first ignored them, thinking it was telemarketers. Today I got fed up when they called five times in a row. It's Fidelity something collection agency. I called back to the 281-647-4152 number, after being on hold, some rude women first hung up on me, so I called again. I got the same woman, she said she was collecting a debt for Hollywood Video! I told her I didn't owe Hollywood Video any money for anything, they had closed here in this area over 21/2 years ago and I did limited business with them then. I told her not to call my number again. I think this must be a scam of some sort.......I don't like that they have my name, cell number and date of birth which they must have gotten from Hollywood's customer list. We'll see if they stop their endless phone calls. Isn't it against the law to collect for a fabricated debt?
They call my house every day, for someone who doesn't live, not sure who had this number before us. I told her no one lives her by that name, she gets nasty, hangs us, and to solve the problem. Tired of trying to make them understand that "no one lives here with that name", and they have the wrong phone number!!!! So we feel sorry for all those people victimized by this company because we are one of them.
Look everyone, if you have a bill, and you owe the money, just pay it and the calls will stop. You're the ones that didn't turn in the movies/returned them on time. Just pay the bill, and it all goes away.....Trust me. :-)We all have to make a living, some do it as collectors, others do other things.
I THINK THE BI-POLAR DUDE (cookhvac) UP ABOVE HAS THE RIGHT IDEA!!!! LET'S JUST FIND THEM AND KICK THEIR BUTT AND PUT A RINGING PHONE UP IT!!!
I have filed a USDC complaint in Lubbock, TX against Universal Fidelity. Numerous violations of FDCPA.Recorded calls, ignore 4 debt validation letters and called at 9:02 pm on one occasion. I am looking for an attorney interested in such a lawsuit.
Called my work number and said I had collection account from Bradford Exchange from 2008. Have ordered from Bradfords but do not owe this.
